DFI Nforce 4 and VX Performance.

Just to note , that while DFI is making some adjustments to their NF4 motherboard and bios we have found that swaping slots with 2 good units
may increase your performance greatly when using slots 2 and 4 when using any winbond based product.

If you are already over 250 Mhz this may not work as well , or slot swaping could decrease your performance.

Due to the non-standard trace routing and termination resistance on the DIMM slots as well as drive strength settings in the bios , you may need to swap dram slots to provide error free results with winbond die based products.

If your having trouble with any winbond die product, just swap slots and see how it runs , slot swaping under certain circumstances will provide up to a 50Mhz diference in overclocking

In addition something to note ,when switching from one set of memory to another we have found you may need to hard reset the cmos to allow booting.

OCZ employee and proud of it.
If you have actually personaly experienced a problem with a OCZ product that was not solved quickly by our wonderful support staff I would like to know. Feel free to PM
    Thanks

Hm, I use the orange slots, is it 2 + 4 ? Working fine as shown here:

Have three different kits of RAM - no reset required after switching from one to another.

Its not always an issue , just with winbond based memory products and even then its not often

If your not having trouble , then dont bother

    also for us XS guys.

take some 800-1500 grip paper and lap the chips down to remove some of the ceramic film/top covering on the chips..

these chips are "So" sensitive to just the slightest heat change that Its helps you still need good air flow, but this and fans without spreaders is the way to go IMO..

and yes this viods your warrenty, lol

Not really a good idea that!! But I can suggest we get the laser out again and see if it helps.

Up to 50 Mhz difference just by switching dimms around? Talk about not owning the board but being BY the board

I assume, this applies also to VX memory?
