Great thread Fire My Ultra D came shipped with 1.25 and it wasnt too good to me, Without tweaking to ram timings i had trouble getting into windows at anything over 240htt, After tweaking 280htt was max no matter what i did. Flashed to 3.10 and now i have no problems booting at 300htt and above & With clockgen i can hit 335htt 1:1. Subscribed!!!!!!!
Hey guys I'm kinda confused with all of these posts. What BIOS should I use if I have A64 3000+ (Winchester) and Patriots PC3200 DDR (TCCD)? I'm using the default BIOS right now.
Sgt Strider, I have the Patriot RAM and I am using the 331-3 beta BIOS, it has been very good for me. If you want to use an official BIOS, try the 310p.

Thanks FireDragon for the links to the DFI bioses...
A few questions for the RAM masters....
Which bios version is best for VX/UTT Ram... What about BH5??
Maybe someone can make a list with which bios for which type of RAM??
I assume that VX/UTT/BH5 would yse the same bios but which one??
I & many others (I presume) would love to know which bios is best for TCCD, VX/BH5, Hynix, Micron...
Maybe OnePageBook or BigToe would be best suited to help us out with these questions....
Thanks In Advance,
Minnyboy
Cheers,
Minh

This is maybe an "n00b" question, but the 4pin molexplug on ther motherboard, it that an outtake or should i connect power true there also ?
And my CPU fan og chipset keeps powering off, when they are plugged to the motherboard
And after everytime i flash the bios(using WinFlash) it wants to reboot, but it cant reboot, only shot off, the same problem, when i have change an setting in the bios.
Should i return it and get an newone ?
I hope my spelling i correct

The floppy drive power connector is between the PCIe slots and the CPU, right next to that aluminum heat sink.
You need to have all of those connected to power.

Thats definately a power input, tell him to take that fan off it ASAP.Originally Posted by Fumle
Basically it doesn't do any harm having them all plugged in. If you're using a 20 pin PSU you should definately have the floppy and molex connected, going on the word from the DFI guys anyway. I have all of mine plugged in.Originally Posted by HARDCORECLOCKER

Not sure, may aswell use the converter, but definately plug in the molex and fan connector and see if it helps.
Just got my SLI-DR up and running today.
Would be running tight timmings mem... bh, bh-5, utt etc so would the 3-16b bios be best ?
First time ive played with a DFI NF4 board. The stock bios has a shed load of mem options for the timmings which I like very much.
However the voltage for the mem. Its 2.6v default... cant change it from that to 3.2v say. It resets to 2.6v went I select off the vdimm option in bios. Not change the 3.3v > 5.0v jumper. Using some Twinmos UTT atm. Any ideas?
--- Bennah ---
You have to set the Vcore to non-default using Vid Special for the Vmem voltage changes to "stick" You mean you didn't read the multi-page bugs/fixes thread
310 is a good starting point BIOS-wise for any mem. The 331's vary by type of mem but can be a little "touchy".
For VX/UTT and BH5-6 try the 2.17 or 2.18 the 3.31-(1-3) or the 310-p...I myself have had VERY good luck with the 2.17
For the TCCD side of things try the 3.10 3.16 and 3.25 maybe even the 3.26

Also, that floppy power is right next to a Linear Regulator (power supply, with the aluminum heatsink on it), which is running through two inductors. It looks like they're trying to provide very stable power to *something*. Whether it's for SLI or not, I dont know.
If something is drawing power from it, then you'll get a big dip in the power plane around that area, which is by the cpu. And it will also cause your mobo to heat up since it's trying to pipe power through tight spaces around there (there's alot of through-hole stuff).

I have ALL of the power conectors on my board...connected it CANNOT hurt in ANY way only help...there is NO reason not to unless you danot have enough connectors...even if it for SLI use to provide power they WOULD not use it only for that as even the manulae says to plug in EVERY power conector...the molex and the floppy...I have had ALL of mine connected and i have had no problems with my board...sure apperntly you can run the board when not in SLI without them ALL plugged in without and "appernt" side effects...but might as well plug them all in...there is no way that SLI would need a floppy conector and a molex...just to power them...it HAS to drive something else on the board that would "like" steady and stable power...
