Help me narrow down my OC problem

    **computer info in sig**

I originally had 1GB pc4000 A-data vitesta but I coudln't get it stable above 255htt. I decided I got a lemon, and flash foward one year, I buy 2GB ballistix. It caps at the same speed. Doesn't matter how much voltage I feed them. Even at 250htt, it's still not 100% stable, prime will fail after about 8 hours. I don't think it's the mobo because when i max out htt using deviders, I can run it at 300htt and let it prime forever. Also, when my computer boots up, occasionaly my graphics card doesn't get set properly with ATi tool, and I get the streaking rainbow of colors. One restart usually fixes it.

So, I think my psu is too weak for my system. What do you guys think?

    CPU Memory controller perhaps?

Which alpha timings are you using?

Other bios settings? tried clearing CMOS with battery and power cable out for a while? Which bios version are you running?

Using official 1.8 bios. i've tried using 3-3-3-8, 3-4-4-8, and 3-4-4-10 all with the same results. No i havn't tried clearing my CMOS, i'll give that a go.

As far as BIOS settings, i've got all the no brainer oc stuff set correctly. Spread Spectrum disabled, fast write disabled etc. I've read alot of forums and have messed around with all the suggested bios settings, and nothing effects how it oc's.
