Its really difficult to resolder tec's their notorius for the wires melting and breaking off right where it touches the ceramic of the tec. In the future you should use a higher gauge wire

The TEC came with the wire already "solderd" on it. Im guessing it kinda ripped of a bit, and through the ripping there was air between the contacts and air means a higher resitance which also means more heat, then it died.

Hey guys, I caught on to this while researching info on the Wintsch Arctic Web.

I am going to be working with one soon and was looking for additional sources of TEC experience. In particular all the dangers, I know about the condensation issues, but of concern are problems involving unloaded CPUs, etc.

Anyway, I like this idea you guys have going. In fact, I played with this over a year ago with only moderate success do to insufficient power and a poor choice in water block. Althought at least I did prove the concept was sound, I mean it does work, and there are benefits to it.

At least -(CH)- survived a TEC failure and that's been the cause of many a dead CPU

Good Luck in your efforts and hello from PimpRig

Same thing happened to me, couldn't fix mine either. When I thought I'd done it and powered it up one end got hot as well as one side so it was cooling and heating on the same side Weired. BUMMER.

Ok im going to try a second run...

    I will e using 4 Copper Plates 120*120*10mm. 4 320 W tecs @ 5 or 10 V.

The Copper Plates will be made into 2 Big watercoolers which I will have to drill and then solder together. I will then be cooling CPU and GPU. It will rock but be expensive so Ill have to save a couple of "weeks".

I still have those PSUs if anyone is intrested

    5.5V 90A
    12 V 10A
    12V 5 A

PM me if someone is intressted, still have about 5
