Maybe that'll make you feel happier about your CPU.
I'm running at 2500 @ 1.5V right now, and this appears (crosses fingers) to be Prime stable! This is on air on a Winchester HSF (the Clawhammer HSF appears to be slightly different, I'm not sure if it's better at all).
I'm running quite hot, between 57-60 Celsius on load. Can't wait for my XP-120 to come in tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to up the voltage to around 1.6+ and get some much better results!

I'm sure u can get more out of this chip, 2500 @ 1.5v is not that impressive, my crappy 3500+ 0451 winnie can do 2600 @1.52v

I believe I can as well. But my temps are rather high, so I'm going to wait for my XP-120 then push for higher voltages.Originally Posted by S0nic
BTW- I wouldn't call that a crappy Winchester. My 3200+ Winchester could only do ~2300 at 1.6V.
Edit: Also keep in mind that these CPUs run at 1.5V by default. So your comparison of your Winchester at 1.5V is not a fair one since you're past your default while I'm still at mine.

I'm using an XP-120 btw..
I guess my chip wasn't too crappy but I wanted 2.7 and it seemed to hit a brick wall at ~2.65, anyways I don't own it anymore so it's history, I should have my superclaw friday or monday, I better not regret returning my winnie. The thing is I also got PC4000 VX to replace my plat rev 2 and I heard VX doesn't work very well with winnies and could damage the mem controller..

Oh that blows. I got my CAA2C today, but I'm too wrapped up in WoW ATM to start OCing. I'll start my burnin period tonight, then the hardcore begins tomorrow.Originally Posted by gypsyboy38

You got 2.65 on a Winchester on air and you traded it in? That's being greedy! Most people get 2.7-2.75 max on air with a Winchester. Past that usually requires water or something else.Originally Posted by S0nic

I believe that these numbers are inflated though since most people like to think that lying about overclocking gives them a bigger p3n1s

Can't complain about this one. Not the best, judging by the volts I need compared to some of the other phase change results, but not bad.
It's a "Z": CAAZC 0502CPMW.
edit to add: and I whacked the volts off the top of my pic, lol. 1.625V to get there.
edit again to add: f'in Verizon keeps resetting my webspace whenever I link pics in high traffic threads. Unadvertised b/w throttling, gotta love 'em. They'll be fired shortly, sorry for the dead link, just another 3GHz+ SPi 1M shot anyway. edited again to add: link fixed.....for now.

How can I see that poll?Originally Posted by Ackbar
2.65 is about the max, didn't get it stable at a decent voltage (but didn't try too hard) however 2.7 was unachievable at all, if ppl are getting 2.7-2.75 from their 3000+ then I expect a bit more from my 3500+ which is almost double the price..

Trust me, I know what you mean. 3000+ seems to be the best for the Winchesters though, the SPAW 3000+ seemed to kick the crap out of most other steppings. I don't know how AMD speed bins, but overclocking is never guaranteed so if you get anything above stock you gained something. Aside from that, it's all luck of the draw. The only reason I got the 3200+ Winchester over the 3000+ was the multiplier, I know most people feel the same way. So maybe you basically just pay more for the multiplier.Originally Posted by S0nic

Will do 2500 (10x250) stock volts, however can't even prime 1M above 2600 regardless of volts (tried up to 1.85). I'm on water, btw.
Hopefully I just got a poor clocker.
i actually don't mind to pay extra if i can have it right away. zzf doesn't allow you to do local pick up. i am just 20 min drive away from themOriginally Posted by RacerX27

still, this is so tempting... decision, decision, decision....ARGHHHHH
That does suck, maybe it's ur mobo or ram or something. All the other caa2c 0506's have been pretty good, even the caazc's have been better than that. Thats really wierd too. Somethings gotta be holding you back other than the processor, unless it's just supposed to be a 4000+ and it sucked and thats why they relabled them as 3500's but I doubt it, more likely, just trying to sell off all 130nm chips imo.Originally Posted by redgoo

Update:
I just finished Super PI 1M at 2745 (305x9) @ 1.65v - with a memory divider though (memory at 250). I couldn't run past 260x10 1:1 with GSkill LE 2.5-3-3-7. I don't think its the memory as I should be able to run up to 275... is it the memory controller?
Phew... that's better!Originally Posted by redgoo
Memory could be defective... try it on another rig, if you can't get it to what it's rated for then RMA it.

You are all lucky. Mine sucks like you wouldn´t belive.
Its a CAA2C 0506BPMW 00569
Max prime stable 2750Mhz 1.6v and Max super pi is 2850Mhz 1.65v
This chip is walking all over my BigWater setup. At 2750Mhz 1.75v I get 68-70c load with a water temp of ~40c.
Think I need to hook up my ProCore / MXC6000 / Eheim instead. Im not even gonna bother mounting my CPU Cooler on this crappy thing.
Okay.. 2800-2850 for benching isnt too bad.. however what really IS bad, is that it wont run RAM higher than 245-250 if CPU is at 2400Mhz or more.
Also.. it refuses to run Trtw and Twtr 1 any higher than 240.
Thats just my luck. When i finally get a chip that OCs OK, the mem controller is FUBAR.
I have a feeling that those who think they have a CAAZC are maybe just misreading them and they are CAA2C - could someone who thinks they have a Z please post a screenshot. In terms of a stepping iteration the Z would have to have been earlier than the 2.
Mine looks to max out around 2800, but the memory controller won't go higher than 260.
I wish I had some VX to test as 300x9 with memory at 250 2-2-2 wouldn't be too bad (until Venice, lol).
My Neo2 has stability issues above 300htt as well it seems.

You have a DFI Ultra-D/SLI-DR, right? That's what I have, so I would imagine that we could compare the difference between our temps even if they're not absolutely accurate.Originally Posted by eva2000
