    Any info about FX57??

Or FX55 90nm? The buzz already started 'round the net. Retail channels seem to stock new batch ('05) of FX55, but still with 130nm.

Yeah - my FX is a pretty poor one for phase-change. Doesn't seem to like the cold or high-voltages much (3Ghz max and no change with anything over 1.6v), although it did 2.8Ghz on air.

If the San-Diego FXs clock as well as I'm hoping they will, I'll probably sell this one and go for a new chip

Ah, golden days for us more financially challenged

Though in DK people seem to like the idea of selling them for $800... Crazy...Thats a lot of winchesters
In short, both AMD and NVIDIA discovered that their next-generation graphics cards are superior to each others' last-generation graphics cards.

I'd like to get a 90nm FX as well, but I am afraid of getting an "old" one doing bad...
It's been ordered 4weeks ago, and no new stock in sight

I heard the new weeks of FX-55 130nm aren't doing very well... *sigh*

I wouldnt be supprised to see the old 130nm fx55 lose some value, lack of sse3 will be a big factor, that and less overclocks. Many people that have enough to spend on a fx55 *do* overclock as well. I checked ebay last week, fx53s were going in the $600s while fx55 in the $900s. The san diego fx55 is supposed to come in March with a fx57 in q3. Then id say $900, $600, $400 for fx57, 55, 53

Still a 'few' old fx55 can scaled 3.45Ghz easy with only single phase cooling. Imo, the best 'burn in' method for this cpu is with phase right out of the box. For some reason burn in with air/water gave some 50/50 oc results.
With everyone ran DFI Nf4 mobo, we will see a lot of 3.4Ghz powa

I have not seen a single hit 3.45GHz on single phase. Oppainter and others barely hit 3.5GHz and thats with phase change and only stable enough for a quick 3dmark run. around 3.2GHz is more like it for single phase. On air they do anywhere from 2.7 to just over 3GHz stable. It is highly likley the diegos are considerably better cause of 90nm and enhancements to scale clocks

I'm getting 3.3ghz from my FX 55 with an unmodded Mach 2. Insane powa!

But, I'll be getting the FX 57 when they arrive and put the FX 55 out for sale.

Heres with -7Mhz....Its stable with 1.80V and cold winter night http://arc.aquamark3.com/arc/arc_view.php?run=823181049
But, again...I guess with fx57 all bets are off.

    It's a week 41.

I've got the exact codes around somewhere.... ah here we are:

    ADAFX55DEI5AS

    CAAZC 04441EPMW

    1123692J40044

Jikdoc had a very similar chip, caazc 0441 epmw xxxx0021, which also sucked for clocking on phase. Just the luck of the draw I guess... still, I haven't had a decent clocking CPU for a long time, so I think I'm owed some serious CPU-karma on the next chip I buy

overclockers.co.uk in their amd 939 cpu page says that FX-55 "Backorders shipping 03/03/2005 with large numbers of stock arriving 09/03/2005"

Maybe FX-57 will no hit stores that soon as we were thinking? Or these will be FX-55 90nm allready?

    Old FX-55 - new FX-55 - 130nm - 90nm - FX-57........, this is all a great ammount of confusion, nobody knows for sure what's going on.

We will see - maybe AMD is tricking us all and releases a FX-59 in May...............

Don't even think about believing OcUK's estimated dates. They just pull them out of their asses in order to draw pre-orders. They physically take the money as soon as you pre-order as well, rather than just reserving it until the item ships, like everyone else.

An example: The DFI nf4 boards.

    They went from:

"we're getting ALL the stock assigned to Europe by DFI. They're with Customs now, and we'll have them tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday morning!! Plenty enough to cover all back orders and have plenty of stock left! Get your orders in now"

    To (5 days later)

    "We've recieved 30 boards"

There were around 200 pre-orders for each board. Other retailers had stock to spare. Yeah, that thread got deleted pretty quickly.
