Well guys i did get a couple parts going today. I'm adding some more capacity to my HX since i picked up some bigger compressors. I'm making a DIY one that will go after the HX and between the accumulator for the 1st stage.

It's just a suction line HX. 1/2" suction line is maintained on the 1st stage. It's a 1 3/8" tube w/ coupling reducers. I'm going to strech out the coil some and silver solder the 1/4" tubing to the pipe.

If i don't like how it turns out, i can buy a pre made one.

    Enjoy the pics!!!

what about putting the coil you made inside a larger pipe, that way it is completly surronded by gas. if you want to solder it on maybee consider cleaning and fluxing the pipe well and use 50/50 soft solder, it will flow real well ,at a much lower heat.

I may just end up taking the couplings back. There's damn $5 of couplings on each end. They shop has some older pre made ones for $35 each i can get and be done with, contained inside a shell already.

Well i was thinking about it guys. I've took the fittings back (about $5-6 on each end). It was only like $20 more to just get this pre made up one and save me the headache and do it right. I got the "H 75" and it will add some more capacity to my system, and should prove to manage a very strong load i feel.

by the way, those hx must be mounted with the liquid entrance above the suction so that the liquid fills the entire cavity.

The need to be mounted the other way around for use in this application. There is not enough ethlyene to in the system to fill the cavity, this is used at the entrance of the hx to add capacity and desuperheat the suction gas.

The discharge of the second stage compressor goes through an air coil then to this HX and themn into the oil seperator then on to the HX. If thiswere a three stage there would be two oilseperators.

I see what you mean, that way you don't need as much ethylene, as it would indeed take quite a bit to fill the hx.

I got a buddy of mine to help me recover the 1150 i had in the system. I have enough to charge again and prob once more, but every bit i can save and salvage i'm going to.

I picked up some electrical for the 1 HP today.

Got a Supco Solid state relay and hard start capacitor "SPP5" to run in parallel with the run capacitor i bought, which is a 25UF/370VAC run capacitor

And here is a shot of the suction line HX i'm going to add to increase the capacity some. Also, got a step down swedge reducer to go from 5/8" swedge to 1/2" pipe for the 1st stage suction line.

Got the new desuperheater from chilly1 in today. Pretty nice little condenser chilly is selling.

I mounted the fan grill and 115v 120mm fan on it.

Alright guys. I've finally gotten all the parts to repair and upgrade the Cascade.

Mainly got 2 panel mount gages, 2 accumulators, several mounting brackets and etc. for the cascade. Also picked up a newer chilly1 chipset/GPU block for a cap tube system i'm building for Video and northbridge cooling. Also in the pic you see a messed up block that got sent back to him that i got for cheap from chilly. It will be turned down on a laythe machine and made into a DICE / LN2 container.

Also snagged a cheap TEV off ebay fo' cheap. Got it today also, so snapped couple pics of it.

    Pics below and enjoy!!!

lol actually there is an update. I worked on it 1st time in a while tonight. I have the 1st stage done up and just need to pressure test the 1st stage and braze in a service port on the compressor.

I'm trying to come up with the best placement for the desuperheater. It shouldn't take much more effort to get the 2nd stage brazed together and then all it will be is the wiring and etc.

Expect more in a few days guys..

    Thanks for asking, cheers!

Well thanks, no updates yet. But i'm going to finish it soon. I'm fixing to build a GPU cascade and finish the other cascade also.

The GPU cascade is for school, so it should be a good project.

no idea how it will turn out. -100 load on a dual core would be nice.
