    Notes about DFI NF4/New Winny

Just got my new DFI-U-D setup and wanted to make a few notes.

It's a GREAT motherboard. CPU's OC better on THIS board, memory OC's better, I'm on the 1/25 BIOS and it's sweet. I LOVE the automated fan circuits, this thing just makes OC easy.... the little power switch, the looks, the quality, the heatsinked mosfets, where do I stop? A+++ board.

And picked up a new 0445 RPMW Winny, tested a bit on Hyper6 with a quiet fan, at 1.69v got her up to 9 x 301 = 2710 sPI 8M stable... will go higher, I simply STOPPED at 9 x 301.....
I picked it up at my local PC Club, they had a load of 0450-0503 late stepping CPU's.... this 0445 was actually an "open box".... but I took the risk that it was a crappy OC'er returned by someone else.... I guess NOT

This board is THE BEST s939 board by a long shot! It is well constructed and holds solid volts to core and mem. It is indestructable. I love mine.......fast at default and fast when overclocked...........unlike the speculation of needing to be overclocked only to be "fast".

Nothing Uber like you guys, but this is straight out of the bios.....no clockgen anymore for me..........HTT285 1:1..... at 2.7VDimm and all default LDT/chipset voltages.

    Nice clocks Charlie.

I have a week 45 RPMW also and I can only get it up to 9 X 289. Anything higher and windows doesn't load. No matter the voltage. It's also not stable at that speed. It is stable at 10 x 260, though. So I don't know what the heck is wrong. I think my RAM is crappy (ocz 3200 plat. rev 2) cause everyone else seems to be able to get it over 300 1:1 easily, but no matter how loose i go with the timings, it just doesn't get higher than 289.

Aren't you concern about the leg of the RM bracket sitting on top of the resistors?
I talked to tech support this morning and they acknowledge incompatibility with the DFI so I'm returning mine unless you found a solution.

Which PCC? the one in Ventura?

Great OC btw and congrats on the new board!

I had a simiar issue with the Neo2, so I shaved one leg.... didn't notice any interferencewhen mounting
Either I lucked out and the shaved leg is on the resistor, or I didn't notice it... maybe I'll tear it apart getting ready for some "alternate cooling this weekend, nyway

oh ok, I thought you said "they had a load of 0450" so I was gonna get one but if they are 05's there is no point.
I got a CBBID 0503EPGW from NewEgg, so far so good @ 2500GHz for now (280x9 2.5-3-3-7 1.5v) until I learn how to tweak this board and RAM.

Yeah, check again cause the front left leg sits right on top of a bunch of resistors or whatever they are.
The bracket on the XP-120 is fine because the legs have small footprint but the Hyper6 legs are huge.
In order to fix it you'll have to practically take the leg off leaving no support on the corner.

Talking Charlie, what kinda temps are ya getting? (Please)

Speed fan tells me 30-31 @ idle and 39c max under S&M using ceramique and not even cured yet.

Also as soon as you find your dream settings USE CMOS RELOADED!!!
(I use spot 2, save spot 1 for 'help I fallen and I can't get up' settings ). It works fine unless you change BIOSi, so write everything down JIC.

@ Kakaroto: what Are you waiting for CBBHD = Good. Get that chip in and show us what YOUR can do!

sounds similar to my CBBHD 3200+ 0445 VPMW on A8N-SLI Deluxe did 2717mhz at 1.6v (1.55v in bios) and on DFI NF4 SLI-D 218 bios did 2745mhz at 1.632v
