xtreme speeding... how fast have you gone?

Got the Buell 1125r up to 150 a couple of times, but here in VA they don't play with motorcycle speeders...it's jail time. big fine, possible revocation of permit etc etc. I only feeling comfortable exceeding posted limits on the twistiest of the back roads as far as possible from the townies. And only if the time is right...there are times when tractors, tourists, and deer make blasting through the countryside a real hazard. And VDOT likes to spread gravel without warning signs. That right there should amount to criminal negligence if not manslaughter. Anyway it's not about speed as much as rhythm for me. I like to find stretches of challenging road where maintaining the limit requires a fair bit of skill and confidence and then run about 15 MPH over that. Those yellow signs with the curvy arrow that warn "30 MPH" are what I look for. Negotiate a series of esses like that at 65-70 and you are doing something...anyone can mash the gas pedal and fly down the highway...try that with a 100 foot drop off on one side and a rock face on the other in a 270 degree sweeper

Well typically when you're on a motorcycle you don't have to worry about jail time and charges at high speeds.... You would just be dead.

Not the fastest I ever did but the most fun:

I once went from Holland trough Germany, Poland into Czech. We averaged 110mph on a 500 mile road from Germany stretching all the way trough Poland. It was raining like hell and we drove a VW Transporter van . Not bad for a van.

I've been fast enough to slide sideways all four wheels slipping and rolling over a few times on dry sunny days. Used to collect wreckages back in the days, you know, when I thought I knew all about driving fast. I was a slow learner too. Think I got up to 4 totalled cars. Shoulda been dead when you think about people that have one accident which proves to be fatal and it's not even their fault. Never crashed into anyone though, not unless on purpose. Straight speed has never interested me much, too many things you don't have any control over. Like when you hit 200km/h on a long straight in an old BMW and there's someone rolling out from a small gravel road somewhere on the countryside.
