Sweet. Went to a hobby store a couple weeks ago near work. Was thinking about getting one of those. Think it was $330.

But now I look online and there are like 10 different models ranging all over in price, it's like shopping for a real car lol.

I'm a total noob at RC, haven't had one since I was a kid. But now, as an adult I can spend more money on bigger and faster toys .

It isn't pointless. With Rc's weight matters, also plastic is better than metal, metal bends throws suspension off, plastic breaks, replace suspension not thrown off. Graphite in the right places is even better.

well sure also long the car isn't discontinued, other wise, like me you would have to go aluimuin parts for durability and life time.

I had a Fantom FR .15 in a "HPI super nitro Rally" it ate the main transmission gears a on two speed -.-

True but servo cases should never differ. They are almost universal.

wasn't the servo case that broke
    My front suspension has though.
anyways I always I hear brush-less are brutal on differentials Breaks the teeth a lot on the diff gears. I would expect that from something that is direct drive to the gears.
With the nitro you have the clutch bell and shoes to vary where the bite is on the engines power band and rpm.

Oh my gawd. If you've been running NiCd, then you will s**t your pants when you run a LiPo. By far the best upgrade for any electric RC car. I run a yearless (because I forgot) Team Losi XXX-T with a 10.5T Havok ESC + Brushless and a 5A 2-cell LiPo. Thing can run full throttle consistently for over an hour on a full charge.

so i was expectiong the lipo here friday, but i got an Out of stock notice, when it was supposedly in stock.
I was asked to wait, get a refund, or choose another battery.
    chose a different battery
2 days later i was told the original battery was still oos
so i sent them back a rather annoyed email... no response

so i still haven't recieved it.
    But i went racing saturday,
I was the only one with a Nimh battery, all others were on lipo's
1st heat ~2.5 seconds off the pace. was really loose
    adjusted suspension
2nd heat ~ .7 seconds off the pace. still pretty loose, but nowhere near as much as i was in the 1st heat
    adjusted suspension a little more
3rd heat i gained another tenth. was alot more consistent with lap times, but not enough.
    Qualified 18th

started 2nd in the C main
was leading with ~2-3 minutes left, but i caught up with the slower cars and got involved in there wreck and went from a half track lead to 3rd place.
was gaining on 2nd but ran out of time. ended up 3rd in the C main done for the night.

My friend has a Slash that's brushless and lipo...its insane I'm not very good at driving RC's (I just have my brushed Nicad Rustler) and I flipped his slash so many times. Its crazy fast on asphalt.

i know what you mean. the slash has a high center of gravity, so when you try to turn at high speeds you barrel roll.

like chew said, plastic breaks not bends...
here is my inventory of broken parts
    servo case
    half the front end

i was trying to turn around today and managed to run into a metal fence pole at 20-25 mph. I broke a bulkhead, bent a shock shaft, broke the tie bar, and bent an a-arm connecting pin
    cost to fix, only $15

one nice thing when a computer breaks its normally not a cheap fix, whenn an rc bbreaks you can usually fix it for less than $20 bucks and end up with spare parts.

    the carnage...

I would definitely suggest changing the connector on the ESC than the battery. I had a Deans on my ESC and the battery was 6mm bullet. Just change to the bullets. Very easy to do (even with little soldering skills) and the connectors themselves work very well. Not to mention almost all batteries come with bullets now.

i must have gotten a very weak replacement bulkhead. 2nd run (at practice) some little kid ran me off the track on the back straight. while the track is indoors it is just enough to get a stock slash to full speed. while airborne i ran smack into a post that is holding the barn up. were talking a 6in x 6in piece of wood. A guy that was marshalling looked at it from ~10 feet away, and i could tell something was wrong from the look on his face and because he took his sweet time going and getting it. I look at the truck and i snapped the bulkhead on the right side this time.
    the count so far.
    2 nerf bars
    2 bulkheads
    1 tie bar
    1 shock shaft
    1 suspension king pin

well i went to the hooby store today. I was planning on getting $5 worth of stuff. but im building up a racing edition slash from the rustler chassis.
walked out with $25 worth of crap. lol

rc is like a cheaper version of computer addiction. except with rc's, you can build 5 pimped out car/trucks for the same price as a High end computer...
