    Radeon X850 XT PE orders cancelled by ATI, claim

    ATI says vendors get first crack at the new ATI x850xt platinum video card. "are partners come first". says one ATI rep. so, consumers may have to pay as much as $750 to buy one from newegg!! so, availability may be a problem that plagued the x800 series as well.

    yea i pretty much figured this would happen, ati alwasys give them to the system builders first and leaves the customer wanting

    That explains why most of x850xtpe in retail channels is oem. Some of those cards find their way to newegg alikes. Someone ordered from gameve at $575 for 850xtpe oem and when he checked the invoice it was $595 It happened at the same day ati announced the news.
