Anyone know the max vcore/vmem on this board? I might like this board over the KT400 options to hold me over until NF2

I believe the voltages are the same as Abit's KT400 boards. I actually flashed the KD7-E bios onto my KD7 raid and the voltages were the same. Unless they've changed the bios since last week I would say I'm correct.
Vcore=2.25
Vdimm=3.20
I believe their something like that but my KD7 bios chip died so I can't be exact.

Ah sorry, just saw he's from Norway.
Do you think perhaps some of the issues with the KT400 like corruption over 200FSB will not occur with the KD7-E, and basically other problems with the KT400, but still have some KT400 features like all multipliers available and voltages?...I hope so![]()

Err... KT333? This looks like a value (read: crap) board.

Yeh KT333, which doesn't have high FSB problems like KT400, at least the KX7-333 didn't. And should still implement all multipliers unlock + good voltages....IF this doesn't have corruption @200mhz and above, then why not? It's not like KT400 chipset is showing much of an advantage of KT333, so at leats get best of both chipsets which is what I'm hoping this will be...COuld very well be wrong though.

I agree with Bushboy on this.
The KD7-E could certainly be an overclockers dream. It has all the voltage adjustments, available mutlipliers, CPU diode reading, and USB 2.0 without the KD7 flaws like the data corruption issue....or the poor fsb issue when running a Radeon 9700.

Yep...great price. I almost bought when when my KX7 went tits up a few days ago. In the end, I wound up going with an Asus A7N8X just to try something different then VIA. But the KD7-E was my very close second choice.

Does anyone know if the "unlocking trick" that seem to be present on KT400 boards (not just the T-Breds according to AMDMB) is present on the KD7-E ? Is it in the mobo layout or the chipset ?

That was exactly my line of thinking, the KD7-E seems like sort of a KX7 on steroids. I was checking Newegg for the KD7-E for a long time and couldn't find it there or any where so I gave up on it. I ended up ordering an ASUS A7N8X on Friday after seeing how much fun sys is having with it. Then on Saturday I was looking at KD7's for my brother and saw the KD7-E finally in stock at Newegg so I ordered one of those too.![]()
If the KD7-E will do 220 FSB stable with decent benches, I'll keep it and return the ASUS. If the KD7-E is more of an average peformer, I'll keep the ASUS.
I got a Highpoint 404 RAID controller to go with whichever board I keep so I can retain my current (KR7A-R) RAIDed drive setup.
It should, seeing as it's newer than the KD7 I would think it would have that feature regardless if it is KT333...Maybe just wishful thinkingOriginally posted by DuraN

Yes I tried it on an XP2400+ and it did unlock. However I can not promise you it will unlock all the CPUs out there or maybe it was just this particular board or CPU.. but both the NF7 and the KD7-E were able to unlock the multipliers on this CPU.
