Question Which DC PS for running AquaXtreme 50Z @ 13.8V

I was looking at a couple of power supplies for running my 50Z @ 13.8V.
Could anyone here with some experience of running this pump @ 13.8V on a PS recommend either one over the other?

the second one would prolly be better as you can get a higher amperage one.. should have a little headroom in the psu so it isnt working near max capacity all the time.

50Z draws less than 1A, even at 13.8V, I'd say go with the 3A model on the second page, it's rated 2A continuous - you don't need any more power than that.

BTW maxxx, those PSUs are designed to work at their max continuous rating all the time, leaving headroom is just wasting money.

OK, thanks. I'll go for the 2A one then.

butcher. I wasnt suggesting the 10 amp or anything. I liked the 5 amp one (4 amp would be best i think) so that way you could run other components off of it if you ever wanted to. like say a second 50z.. hehe.. Upgradability is something to think about, especially when the increase in price for it is very small like in this case.

The only issue i have with a bigger psu on it is that they will most likely disipate a little more heat...
