i know its been asked a million times...

this whole 24pin psu thing with the nf4's is really getting me considering i have to sell my video card too and buy yet another one, i've got an Antec 480watt true power, but still only 20 pins!! think i could just buy a 24 pin connecter and mod on to this psu using extra wires(it has a wierd looking connector with orange wires and such not being used) im not using?? i'd be pissed if i have to sell such a perfectly good psu just cus it doesn't have an extra 4 pins... well thanks for the help in advance guys!!

The reason why I wouldn't have responded is because I haven't run into this situation myself, so I would be poor at giving advice here. From what I can recall of the threads around here, those with powersupplies like yours are still in luck.

    Check around the threads..

Of course, you wouldn't rely on that PSU for the most extreme overclocks, but you'd be able to hang in there until you decide to upgrade.

I have a 3000+ Winnie running prime stable @ 2500mhz so far on a DFI NF4 Ultra-D with an Antec TruePower 430W PS. It has 20A on the 12V rail and a 20 pin connector. I'm not using an adapter on it nor do I have the extra 5v and 12v connectors on the board plugged in. It's got more left in it but I'm waiting on a fan for my XP-120 before I push it farther (temps are at 60C under full load). The power supply does not seem to be a problem. Smart Guardian indicates the rails do not budge at all under full load.

Specs at the moment are (Everything connected during testing):
    3000+ Winnie (1.6 Vcore) w/retail HSF
    PNY 6600GT
    1 256Mb stick BH-6 @ 3.2 volts
120GB Maxtor IDE + 250GB WD SATA HDs
    NEC 3520a
    Fusion HDTV capture card
    2 120mm case fans

Depends on you much amps per line, how they are separate and all that.... Ithose extra wires are on the same base as the others, it wont give you nothing more...

    should work fine

a 24pin psu might give you some extra kicks for a higher stable oc though, but you dont need it

I dont see why you cant wire up the extra wires the board requires.

Providing the PSU has the juice to give out then you should be able to wire in the extra's and be good to go.
