Ive fixed problem totaly, guess what. Ive sold that sucker and bought ATI Radeon 9550 128 MB ( moded to 9600 PRO ) and stutters are gone. Game aint so smooth as it was on 6800 but it doesent stutter.

Well point of all this is , nvidia sucks and i never should belive in marks points. I have feeling that 9800 moded to XT was equal fast in most games as this 6800@GT but without stutter.

i upgraded from 9600 pro to 6800nu oc'ed and softmodded to 6800u and the difference was unreal. It was like getting a whole new computer, or moving from black and white to colour. Games looked pretty again, and could be run in glorious hi-res.

Moving from a mid range of one generation to the mid range of the next will do that.

I am getting it using a 6800GT, WHQL drivers under FarCry. The 71.84 would lock up the game. Think it's a heat related issue, although it was 61° immediately after exiting, last time I checked. I'm thinking that instead of artifacting like ATi cards, 6XXX cards temporarily lock up. There's gotta be something driver related though.

well they don't, i can assure you of that.

My card hits 78c under 3dmark and it's fine, not stuttering at all. It sounds like something is wrong with some, yes, but i can't figure out what.

I have a dfi nf3 headed here, already have a leadtek 6800gt 256mb agp card...

These reports of problems are definitely not what I wanted to hear! Hopefully it works fine like it does for reject...

I have a dfi nf3 and I have absolutely no stuttering after I've set the pci latency to 64.
    I currently play HL2 1600x1200 4AA/16xAF and D3 ultra q 1600x1200 4AA/16AF

Cool, thanks for the heads up HaLDoL.
I downloaded the PCI Latency Tool v2.3 from guru3d incase I need it. This could just be an excuse to upgrade to an nf4 ultra d and pcie though.

    Unhappy Stuttering with 6800

Hey. I also have the same problem with all my games. The fps is around 100 the first minutes, then everything drops to less than 1 fps fort about 1-5 seconds. then the game picks up and goes back to 100 fps.
    It is so anoying!

Here is a list of what Ive done so far to try and fix probs:
    -Format C:
-Installed drivers from both asus and nvidia (everything from 66.xx to 76.45)
-Installed asus smart doc and asus enhanced drivers 1.15 and 1.14
-installed nvidia nforce 2 drivers, tried 5.10 and 6.39
    -Fast write on/off
-pci latency 064 instead of 248
-different AA AF settings. everything from 0/0 to 8/16
-Tried both on my Raid 0 drives and the single sata drive. (i have windows on both)
-Removed Audigy 2 ZS and used built in soundcard.
-Removed raid 0 drives, and removed sata drive, tested with both systems.
-Removed Pci raid controller, disabled onboard raid controller
-Removed all USB devices except joystick
-Disabled allot of ports like the LTPT printer port
    -OC the graphiccard
-Opened up pixel and vertex 16/6 with success.
-also tried different resolutions and detail level settings
-3dmarks 03 gets 9000 points when pixel vertex is open, when using 12/5 I get 8200 points.

    My sys specs are:
    Amd 2800 barton
    2 x 512 mb twinmos 2700 333
Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe mob with 1013 bios (latest)
    Asus V9999 (geforce 6800) 128 mb. (1 week old)
    2 x 200 gigg seagate sata Raid 0
    1 x 160 gigg maxtor sata
Aerocool Aeropower 550 Watt (1 month old)

    26degress c in tower.
    cpu i 56 degrees

any ideas anyone? im about to send my graphic card on a oneway trip to the bottom of the channal...
its very strange that I have the exact same problems like Sobol like he said, its like if the games skip a few frames. As if textures are loading during the time.
By the way, sometimes it seems to happen when the harddrive is loading. I have looked in device manager, but there are no pci conflicts with the raid controllers.

    /thanks
    corb
