set your pci-e related setting in the bios to 256 instead 4096?? (don't remember the right number). do that, and see your score gets better.

I too have problems overclocking my NON PE, I get to about 530-540 core and thats about it, WTF is that, even witha PIC Blower cooling the back of the card and rear ramsinks.

    hmm it`s getting better 13450 3dmark03 points

i think the cat 5.3 and the the new patch for 3dmark03 isn`t good for my scores...

is there any chance to change the pci-e speed on my dfi lanparty nF4 ultra-d

cause of my innovatek nb cooler i had to stick the card into pci-e slot2

everest told me that the second pci-e slot is running with 8x

which is the fastest driver for an x850xt ??

Maximus... I don't know if it's wise running your X850XT PE in the second PCI-E socket. You need to put it on the first to get the best performance since it will be on a 16x lane. I feel for you though.. I really wish I can find a NB chipset watercooler (that I can get in the U.S.) that will fit in the DFI board.

I might try getting an Abit board instead.

yeah, there is none that is quite thin yet good for the NB. or at least, somebody should design it to have a side outlets instead of top outlets...the biggest problem is the outlets of the hoses...

i have exactly the same problem! and when i set it to find the max core or mem speed, guess what, it starts downclocking my card more and more down to 40mhz core where i get artifacts like crazy and my pc restarts

and when ocing with atitool i get random crashes and freezes for 30seconds with atitool crashing... i thougt this was THE tool for ati cards?

well it doesnt work AT all for me, lol

I use Rivatuner and find my own max clocks. Atitool is way too buggy.

same here, used rivatuner and 2k5

the first x850xtpe does 600/655, the second does 595/627, both artifact free and totally stock with fan speed set to max all the time and 18°C room temp

upping the core by 10mhz gives me almost 50 3dmarks while upping the mem 10mhz only gives me 20 3dmarks, i think the x850xtpe's really have much more relaxed timings on the mem and maybe chipset/vpu than the x800xtpe's wich is why they are slower clock for clock.

too bad i dont have an x800xtpe to compare both

I find that the non pe's clock much higher that the pe's. I use Sapphire X850xt's. Everyone I had except one hit 700.

    with what cooling?

and from what ive heard the xt's oc to around 560 vpu average with stock cooling.
why would the highest default clocked card overclock worse than a card that comes clocked lower by default? doesnt make much sence...

Well I got my Silencer the other day, with ATiTool i can clock to 560/620 but 3DMark fails on me and I reboot. With RivaTuner I can make runs at 540/618 but no higher and I occassionally fail.

Core temp is about 50c btw

Here are a few more examples of a card I got today from Newegg.

X850xt non pe (702x639) I havent put on the ramsinks yet, so the scores are a little low.

Very nice. Only 1k (i know i know, its 05) less than OPP's score on Phase. For $450, thats some kind of power.

Im getting even more out of this pig. The clocks are 714/645 for 05, and 711/654 in 03. Unfortunately my DFI SLI-DR lost its pci-e slot so I cannot bench till my replacement arrives.
