    6800 ultra overheating??

hey guys my friend just completed his rig with the following spec

    200gb hd

BFG 6800 ultra oc out of box. (AGP version) on 550 W Q-tec power supply.

    amd 3400 +

just wondering we started the machine up decent temps,

    cpu load @ 37
    system @ 38
    hd @ 41

however we are extremely worried about the bfg @ 1024x768 , 75htz, 32bit colour , its idle temp is 55 C straght after boot up !?!? after setting the Antialiasing and anistropic to 8 each it and played medal of honour , amazing graphics at max, but GPU temp broke 61 load !!

is this normal for this card or something very rong going on here,
are they serious about 120 C??

The only problem i can see is the Q-tec power supply.

y should a PSU be the reason for overheating? (and we told already - there is no overheating all normal results )

thanks for the quest responses guys very helpful

just wondering should we keep this puppy up at 8x and 8xS settings , high quality , or should we lower it ? , although there is a massive difference in smoothing effects in game between 4x and 4x :S , this card is capable of running at 8 no problem right?

    p4z1f1st

ur program made it go to 74 and kept rising until i exited!

    JBREAKS

now you knowm what your load-temp is mate

but don't be afraid: HiJon89 is right - all under 90°C ist fine

(btw that program gives a MAXIMUM load to ALL parts of the GPU....normally you won't get in a game above 70°C - maybe, when it's a game, which uses massivly all kind of shader, etc)

btw. just use 4x Antialiasing and 16x Anisotropic Filtering - that gives you the best eye-candy with good performance
