    What memory for DDR600 (1:1) on 865/875

    Hey out there...

I got my hands on a good old 2.4C wich has the ability to run the magic 300MHz FSB, but I'm lost when it comes to memory - I'm not up-to-date with what's hot so I'll need some advice to get this CPU keep playing with the big boys.

My target is to run the FSB and memory synchronous all the way up to 300MHz FSB, but what memory will be able to do that? I made some research, but it's hard to say wich will do it because all the memory wich is potential for the task is only tested in Athlon64 based systems in wich many run DDR600+ CAS2,5, but on a Intel platform it's another story. DDR600 CAS3-4-4-8 seems to be the target. DDR480 (5:4) CAS2-2-2-5 could be an alternative, but if the DDR600 is within reach it's my target.

The Adata and Gskill PC4800 is rated CAS3-4-4-8, but still... can they do that on a Intel platform (865/875). What with Gskill PC4400LE - are they to be considered?

EDIT: "Recommend" memory wich is available in 2x512MB kits

    Hmmm?

If you find some that will run that high let me know!! I rhave to run my 2.4C on the 5:4 divider but, I still get some pretty outrageous Sandra mem scores!!
So I am not complaining. but 1:1 would be frakin great. I would need it to run at at least 618DDR though.

I love my little 2.4C. It has been pretty much replaced by my 3.0C but, I will always keep it near me.

    In a test of A-data PC4800 they reach DDR596 CAS3-4-4-8 on a IC7 MAX3 + 2,4C, but I most admit I doubt it's stable. The test is danish so I don't think you will understand it

I've been in contact with jack at gskills, and he's tested their PC4800 on a number of mobos (including multiple P4P800s). He was clear to only expect FSB 280s on i865/i875.

yeah, agreed Navig. 280mhz is about all you can exspect which really isn't that bad. You'll still get pretty scores...maybe you could talk to someone over on the Xtreme overclocking section, maybe send 'em a PM. Someone like...Macci or The Stilt. They may be able to give you a few tips

280 1:1 is the most I can get stable out of my P4C800E-Dlx Rev2.0. Too bad cause my chip is capable of 290+ with the 14 multi.
I have heard that OCZ PC4400EL Gold will reach 300 FSB but I am sure it is on limited motherboards. In fact I was talking with someone at OCZ and they said that is why they never released their PC4800. Cause there are few motherboards that would actually be able to take advantage of it.

hmm... seems for me to go 2x512MB BH5 - 240MHz CAS2-2-2-5 is'nt bad. At 250MHz 5:4, CAS2-2-2-5 is just as fast as 1:1, CAS3-4-4-8, but at 300MHz the diffrence increases to 60MHz between the to ratios instead of 50MHz. 1:1 would perform slightly better and maybe clearly if any modules COULD run CAS2.5.

What about a hipro5 modded MAX3 - it reached 400MHz FSB 3:2 after he modded it. Any chance it will do it?

any body use them G.skills yet?? I'm being limited to 281 Bus cause my memory cant take anymore.

I know my CPU is stable to at least 287 which is about 4.6 Ghz when I ran memory at slower speeds.

I'm running old corsair PC4400 3,4,4,8. lookin for some memory that'll do ddr580......
