could anyone tell me what UT stands for, i was originally under the impression that the UT was the higher end board but after reading this i see that the NF4 SLI-DR is. Also i was curious about the UT SLI-DR. I really dont want any of the front panel stuff and i know i wouldnt end up using it anyways. Is the UT SLI-DR basically the nF4 sli-dr without the front panel and leds?. If not then what is the difference, and finally can the nf4-sli-dr function properly without the front panel connected (i dont see the UT SLI-DR anywhere other then the manual scanned, so i dont know how soon it will be available)..

    thanks

thats just the Ultra-D, it doesnt have True SLI 16x + 16x AFAIK.
the U-D is made for quad monitors and not SLI i think..

I don't see why an ATI "SLI" setup wouldn't work on an nVidia chipset, that makes about as much sense as saying an X800 won't work on an nForce3 board. The chipset and motherboard should work like a chipset and motherboard, not a bunch of little electronic nVidia soldiers trying to invade and kill the ATI video card. I mean, it's not like M$ is making the hardware..........*shudders*

From my understanding, the SLI capabilities come from the drivers. The extra lanes from the chipset/motherboard and that bridge between the cards are the hardware support. Am I right in thinking that?

UT: Normal box packing, no front panel, no UV cable sleeve and no PC Transpo, but I still see the Debug LED on the Ultra version(sample).

Anyone able to confirm if the NV5 silencer would work on both cards with the SLI board . The asus one could fit them easily due to them being 2 slots apart but this board is very tight

    LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-D
has the FRONTX panel ?? If this is correct. I think LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR will have the FRONTX panel also

I agree with you and will not believe otherwise until someone posts concrete evidence. I think it's a bunch of guys with tinfoil hats on jumping to conclusions. There currently is no such thing as AMR etc... so that is why it's not supported. They say ATi will not need that bridge so maybe ATi chipset has it built in exclusively? I dunno, but unless ATi goes out of there way to break it, it will work. nVidia has done nothing before to believe that they will hurt mobo sales to influence graphics sales. You move the jumpers and you get 2 PCI-e 8x lanes from the mobo... simple as that. It was implied in the other DFI thread we'd be fools to think this way. Well stubborness of graphics firms would make people buy via... a real genious move... how could I have been so stupid.

Thats great cant wait to get the final word on these boards before we get them as we are supposed to be getting them on the 26th.

A quick question for you know mr OCZ guru does the powerstream 600w only come with 1 6pin VGA connector? Im thinking of upgrading to it from my Antec 480w for my SLI 6800GT system

    Theater-Like Karajan 8-channel Audio Experience

Taking full advantage of Intel's new Azalia audio standard, DFI's proprietary Karajan further eliminates the unwanted noise by embedding the audio codec on a separate daughter card. By isolating the codec into an independent grounding, less interference is produced with other digital grounds on the motherboard. Karajan audio solution allows for crystal clear analog sound output even when other I/O devices are being used.
is there any s/pdif output on the karajan?
