problems with my ddr booster

got my ddr booster today installed it cranked the 3.3v up to 3.6v and started with 3.2v on the booster and my sys couldnt make 220fsb 2-2-2-5 superpi 1mb stable vierd i thought and raised to 3.4v still nothing then i thought my booster was wierd and tryed lowering the 3.3v rail to 3.3v and still the booster remains on 3.4, huh?
how can that be?
shouldnt the 3.3v rail be 0.2 above the booster settings?
i have 2x256mb bh-5 and a msi k8n neo2 nfoorce3 platinium edition
edit:the heatsink is at room temp even with 3.4v so i think something is seriously wrong

Booster uses power of the molex connectors, 3.3V rail dosnt change anything to the Booster...

The rails got nothing to do with the booster.

Just keep the rails close to "stock" if u want the LED display to show u the correct voltage. (U can get very low/high "real" vdimm by having the rails very far from stock).


Why u cant get more than 220fsb, i really dunno. Check so the booster is properly attatched so u arent @ 2.85v. check the vio mod thread for measure point on the mobo. Because that is pretty much what bh-5 would do with that voltage.
Anyway, GL with solving the problem.

i found out that something other is wierd because the computer isnt stable @ stock even when running 2memoryies but with 1 it is even stable at 260fsb

So you have many options of problems... One memory is bum (check both, if none is really bum, it is not that). 1GB can be VERY hard on the Memory controller if you have a winnie, and Dual channel too can be hard n the poor Memory controller the Winnie carries...

i tryed them 1 and 1 and both work great got to 280fsb 2-2-2-5 not stable with one of them

I had the same problem as you Put the booster in Slot 4 (Furtherest away from the cpu) And the ram in slot 1 & 2 (closest to cpu) That should work, with my Bh5 i got to 267Mhz. With the booster in slot 1 and ram in 3 & 4 i couldnt get over 205Mhz!
