It took me about 36 hours for my old watercooling setup to bleed. How long have you been bleeding?

torin, should have gotten a resivour.. takes about 30 seconds to get all air out of the system for me. and thats with the water foaming like MAD!.

After running overnight, it seems to have done it. The tubing is not translucent enough to see the tiny bubbles moving around, but I no longer hear the pump cavitating any more at all... just the barely audible (when I stick my ear 3 inches from it) hum of the pump. How will I know when it's done? Seems done to me.....

What's good to cap a t-line with?

Edit: Before I left for work, I turned the pump off, tapped the housing, shook the tubing around a little, and what seems to have had the most effect was shaking the heatercore around. Immediately after I did that, a good chunk of air came up the t-line.. I'll do the same on my lunch break and throughout the evening, and hopefully that'll be enough to rid the system of air by mid-day friday.

Well, it's up and running. Last night I believe it finally bled itself of air after I shook the heatercore around every 10 minutes for 2 days. (slight exaggeration) Temps have gone from 49C idle 57C load with an SP-97 & Tornado @ 9V to 32C idle 35C load with the exact same voltage and O/C. (and the AS5 hasn't set in yet either, only 15 min uptime so far) Quite the difference I say, and even with the San Ace fans @ 12V, they are quieter than my old tornado.

I'm definitely satisfied.

And while I was taking out my mobo to dismount the SP-97, I took my newly acquired soldering iron and did the VI/O=VDIMM mod, so my VDIMM is now happily sitting at 3.34V. Hopefully I can bump this baby up to 240-250FSB now. Also, after examining my ram and checking the product code, I'm wondering if I've had BH-5 all along, not CH-5. They are KHX3500/512, but it was the KHX3500K2/512 that was definitely CH-5... I'll have to look into it.

So long story short, it has all been worth it, even though I had a proverbial nightmare getting the block mounted. If I had to do it again, I'd be damn tempted not to use worm clamps on the block, because it's near impossible to get those wingnuts twisted down with all that worm clamp crap in the way.

Oh, and my system temp has gone down 7C, most likely because of the lack of heat being blown onto it from the CPU. Surely this will improve my GPU O/C until I can get W/C on that as well.

I tried to take some closeups of the block, but without some better lighting (will be easier in the daytime), the camera couldn't focus properly when zoomed inside the case.

Edit: And I definitely have some wire cleanup to do.

Very nice Torin. Those temps are definately kickass....especially since SP-97 w/ Tornado is one of the best air cooling combinations out there for socket a. How much did all that cost?

BTW, I see you have the same cpu as me with the same exact stepping. Do you like it? Does it overclock well for you? Mine overclocks like crap to be honest. Or maybe my mobo is just being picky.

The CPU is only OK as far as mobiles go, definitely no IQHYA. A friend has a good IQYHA, and he can hit the same OC at 0.175 volts less than me. But, it's fine for what it is... I can do without an extra 100 MHz or so, I guess. I expect to hit up around 2.75-2.8 with this new setup though, if all goes well... I could probably hit 2.9 easy with my friend's chip though.

All of it cost... hmm, haven't really thought about it.

Yea, wire cleanup is today. You should see the other side of the case, it's 10 times worse.

I couldn't come to a conclusion about how to build a rad box, as I couldn't fit everything inside the length of my case, so I didn't bother yet. Eventually I'll make a rad box, but for now there is no reason not to just have it sitting next to my case. Better performance having it open to cold air anyways. I never take it anywhere, so mobility is not an issue.

I got the 13.8V DC PSU from a local electronics shop, it is a TrippLite 4.5A 13.8V DC power supply. There are a lot of other non-12V PSUs other than Meanwells. The one I have comes cased in a nice black box, very clean setup.

Nah, eventually it will go below the case or to the side, either way in a rad box.

Update: AS5 is starting to settle in... getitng 9C over ambient @ 1.85V, and doing 235x11 now instead of 227x11.5 @ 1.93V. I'll probably be able to push it to 2.8 soon, but I think I've hit the limit of my NB @ 235 w/ 2x512MB in 1T. For some reason for CPC off BIOS doesn't give me any additional FSB and has the side effect of killing my sandra bandwidth by nearly 70%. If I ever get that figured out, I'll hopefully be able to hit 240-245 FSB, which would be nice.

All in all, the water cooling experience is definitely turning into a pleasing one. Can't wait for the new brass top Maze4 GPU blocks to come out, so I can compare to the Fusion HL and decide which GPU block I want. On a side note, with the heatercore fans blowing into the case right below my x800, GPU temps dropped 7C.
