    Will this work?

The standard heatercore (from dangerden) will obviously not fit in my case (x-dreamer) but maybe I can mount it on top of my 120mm case fan. I'm ganna flip the fan over so it's pulling air into the case. So, will this work? And if it does, will the water cool properly?

wrong idea... you want that fan pushing arou out of the case, not into it... doing that will keep all of the hot air from the rad and the other components in the case inside of the case.. its also taking air in that is warmer than air down below in the case. Just mount hte rad to the top of the case and put the fan on top of it in a pull config with a shroud...

That should work fine. Just make sure your other case fans are set to exhaust from your case so you dont have them fighting each other and will actually help draw air through the HC.
The warmer air coming into the case wont matter too much because it will be less that 10° warmer than ambient and will still cool all the needed components as good or better than before you mounted the rad because of the added flow through the case.
Where case heat really becomes a problem is when there is very little flow through it, can cause more isolated hot spots than with a larger a mount flowing through.

It'll work, but I think that it would be better to avoid blowing hot air into the case, like Maxxx said

This is what my case fans are doing as of now. Also consider that I have a fan controller that can control 4 fans....and I want my airflow to be a little bit more powerful on the intake side so dust doesn't become an issue (which has been in the past).

EDIT: The only fans being controlled are my cpu fan and top 120mm exhaust fan. Both of those fans are turned all the way down. The rest are running at their stock speeds. The reason why my top 120mm exhaust fan is turned all the way down is because like I said, I want the intake to overpower the exhaust but not by alot.

having the exhaust higher than the intake isnt a big issue... some ppl say it is for dust, but i havnt found that to be true at all.

If you turn down the 2 80mm exhausts and have the 2 intakes up higher with the 120up on top higher you should be fine... that is with the 120 on top exhausting.

So if I were to do this (refer to my first post), which fans would be exhaust and intake now? I was thinking the top 120mm fan and the front 120mm fan would be intake and the rest would be exhaust. And if I wanted my computer to be quiet, I would just turn down all my fans except the top 120mm fan.

I'm not doing that unless the heater core can mount onto the 120mm fan hole....i'm just not ganna let it sit there. But wouldn't the warm air inside the case be cooling the heater core?

yes it would be.. but its not that much warmer as your watercooling.. but having the top fan as in take totaly screws with the flow of air though the system.
