Yea, but I was hoping for possibly a second set of results.

Just put mine it today with a 3700+ DFI Lanparty NF3, Asus X800XT PE, 550Watt Antec Truepower.
Got the 10/15 BIOS, for the higher vdimm, but i now understand i need to mod my PSU or get a booster, which sucks. Iam trying to ind out about the booster, i posted in the booster thread.
Also my case it a bit cramped, so airflow ain't great, might leave it with side off. I have a XP-120 so it blows a fair bit onto the memory, might not bother cooling them, might not have to if i can't put much voltage in hehe.
10x230 3.1vdimm is ok, goa have to test it better.
Whats best to test memory stabilty? Prime or memtest or 3dmark?
can you run 230 at 3.1v? Specs state 3.2 is needed to stabilize 2-2-2 timings.
240 at 3.1 passed mem test once, lol.
Ive have to test more tomorrow.
PC3200 Platinum Rev2 is also only warranted up to 200 2-2-2.... OCZ almost always stick to the cautious side when rating their modules.Originally Posted by cantankerous

Conrad, do you know how far your modules will go MemTest stable with 3.2v, 3.3v, 3.4v, 3.5v?
I am trying to decide if I need a new PSU for more VDimm.... but if 3.3v is bout the point of diminishing returns I wont bother

Off the top of my head, I do not know. I just recall 2.85VDIMM for 230MHz because that was all I had to play with when I was waiting for my DDR Booster's replacement. I'm at 3.51VDIMM right now and to test maximum frequency at 3.2V, 3.3V, and 3.4V would be a pain for me...hahaha. Sorry, Alex. I'm pretty lazy today.
If your PSU has solid rails and you don't wish to perform any mods to the rails, you can always pick up a DDR Booster (or just wait for the HiPro unit).
My PSU is PC P&C 510w Deluxe... I think she has a fair bit of grunt, but it was too expensive to mess with. Although I would happily swap it for a 520w OCZ PowerStream... or 600w if possible.
I dont want a Booster... IN MY OPINION, they are too unreliable and not necessary when you hav a motherboard capable of massive VDimm... I jus need a higher 3.3v rail I guess.
Anyone have experience with modding the PC P&C... jus in case I get game? hehehe
[EDIT] what is HiPro's unit like?

thought I would post up my early results with the VX. I posted them in the 44 page thread, but figured they are better here.
So I have gotten 260x10 so far at 3.4v Not to bad I must say!

Conrad, did you find you had to raise VCore quite a lot when you neared the RAMHz limit?
after tightening the heill out of my timings I am finding I need more than 1.75v to stabilise MemTest #7 at 260.... if I loosen Trc/Trfc/Tref a bit it becomes stable at 1.75v or less again, but even that voltage scares me for 24/7 use on air... I am pretty sure this RAM will go higher that 260 with 3.3v-3.4v but my CPU is getting tired at those speeds by the looks.

Yes. I initially had my VCORE at 1.550V + 5% to stabilize my memory at 257MHz. Everything I posted from 258MHz all the way to 263MHz required 1.550V + 10%. At that point, I stopped adjusting VCORE because my CPU temps were above 70C at load.
My buddy, ronacevedo, is willing to lend me his cascade until I order my system from chilly1. I'm currently considering his offer to see how much more I can do with improved cooling.
What are average newcastle idle and load temps... Or more importantly, whats the max SAFE temp?

depends on vCore, the more vCore the lower the max temp... that is why all mobiles are rated at a higher temp.Originally Posted by Orker

I'm lovin' my Newcastle as well. Do you think there's more to be had from your VX? What VDIMM are you currently at?Originally Posted by Orker
I just received a 4000+ which is a 130nm FX53 that has the higher multi's locked basically. In fact the die size matches the FX55 from what I have read. I will say that you get what you pay for; 1mb cache and a KILLER memory controller. This puts the 90nm 3200+ it replaced to shame (as it should).Originally Posted by Orker
I'm still playing with the 4000+ and the off the shelf VX OCZ managed to scrounge up for me. So far she's looking good!
Sweet. And don't forget to test out the dividers for me.
