Im thinking of buying either a 3200 or a 3500 90mm but which one of them would OC the best?

Depens if you get a good overclocking 3200+ or a good overclocking 3500+
Intel FTW!
Beanna
It's alwas luck.
The 3500+ can do more but also less.
Both can be grat (+3Ghz) but also the biggest .... !
Would say the cheaper one.

I got my 3500+ doing 265x10 24/7.

vran- what vcore?
yeah i think i will get a 3200
more like what cooling?
i'd be interested in the outcome of this, as i'm probably going down this road soonish![]()
sky / s!p - we are oldskool, dammit.
!!!
now i orderd a msi something know it is the most expensive one and nfoorce3 and a 3200+ winnie![]()

Mine has a top speed of 2400 MHz. Thats where it just poops out.
I am going to try just one more and hope for the best.

lol I don't even that would be possilbe to make a chip on that bad of a process, I mean the chip would be the same size as the wafer, lolOriginally Posted by LANjack
Why don't go for the 3500+ Newcastle. IMHO their better then the 90nm ones. Most memory doesn't go as high on a 90 nm as it would do on a 130nm, and the results I have seen so far on PhCh are kinda disappointing. I'd expected to see more 3.2 Ghz shots (and benches) like Charlie on DI.
Those 90nm core's run fast on air or water, so my advise would be to decide based on your cooling and memory needs.
I don't know if the slow memspeeds are somehow related to the subzero temps, but in my experience it made a huge difference...
I must say .. u do have B@lls!! :P
Taking the path of VIA and Abit .. with the AV8 (did u see the horde of problems on the Abit forums!!)
Still ... part of me wants to stick with Abit as I have had numerous issues with past MSI boards (actually swore never to buy MSI again)
By the looks of it ...its the onli NF3 mobo out there and is actively hitting high FSBs.
Whats the MAX FSB u can hit with the AV8?? Care to post any screenies??
I'm sure your G-Skill partnered with your late production winnie could be prime canidate to prove that there is life in the AV8 (VIA platform)....
Joe, what voltage are you running your 3500 winnie at to get 2.7ghz..?? Its the one vital thing you left out. ITs possible there is still some room in that chip!

as this is my first 64 setup and only just now starting to understand how to tweek it, ill have to ask "which FSB" mem or CPU... i MAXed out the RAM @ 275 MHz (1:1 with a 7x CPU) never really tried to max out the "CPU FSB"...but with the little testing i did, i wasnt able to get 300 x 7 to boot even setting the mem to "safe/stable" speeds...
im still worken out the bugs on P95 stability...IMO it aint stable till it can do 1-2+ hours of P95 AND bench: 01,03,Aqua,SIScpu,SISmem...247 could bench but couldnt do P95 for more than 10 min...as of right now im 40min into 245x11 then ill get back to 247.
THIS is my thread on OC for more "up-to-date" info...
BTW i could post and CPUz 2800+ but wasnt stable
1 hour 8 min and it errors...

this is running @ 1.600V again, as ive only had a 64 rig for about 48 hours now im still learning...Originally Posted by MaxxxRacer

i never really noticed much of a "settle-in" with my 2600 (sig) and AS5 but now with this IHS, i can see it FORSURE!
ill be hooking my 2loop (see/click in sig) up to this "soon" although i would LOVE to get my MachII on it...but im not going to spend all the time setting THAT up if it turns out to be the "Winnie" that has the "cold-boot" bug...
yes, i have a (stock) MachII sitting in the corner of the room with a 64 mount (still in the box) not doing a thing butme to hook it up
after i killed 1 NF7-s with my prommy, i decided to "step back" from extreme cooling...(sig chip did 2900+ with it)
hate to post SS this way, but full size it would F-up the page soo much...
