Just use the Omega's...faster, better image quality, less bugs if any, and free to overclock.

the mobility 9800's are clocked at around 325 or so on the core stock.

Seems that if you're lucky, then you have the i855GM chipset in your laptop, and if you're not, you'll have the i855PM chipset.
Now I only hope that CPUID.org will make the ClockGen for the i855PM chipset, so I can do some major tweaking... I'd hate to have to do voltage-mods on a lappy. That'd be rather risky considering I only have 1 heatpipe...

naah i'm using the 855gm clockgen and my lappy has a 855PM.
thanks for sending the pm warship. the thing is cpuid has made an 855pm clockgen thats what thestilt is using but they're not releasing it publicly for some reason.

ivan: Damn how the hell did you get 150fsb? once i go up to 120 everything goes weird like super laggy and i lose my onboard sound. i think its the pci bus. you're using the cpuid clockgen?

enjoy: It comes with 8 pipelines though right? ... haha. 325 stock.

sh33p: And for some reason Franck doesn't answer e-mails ;p

I'm just sitting around twiddling my thumbs, waiting for that clockgen...
I don't like myself when I'm bored, I accidentally bought another 512MB RAM-module for my lappy because I didn't have anything better to do...

hahahahahha well they say the more the better innit. i got 1 gig. wondering how wise that was though considering corsair makes XMS SODIMMS. ... bastards. bet they charge two arms and a leg for 256mb. i gave up trying to twiddle with my stuff and just got on with hl2. just finished it it was very rewarding. i might go back to my desktop and mess around with my x800 instead. its crying for a voltmod

update: i lied. the SetFSB program doesn't actually work for me. windows stalls whenever i try to set fsb.

sh33p: Well, it won't matter for me. The i855(P/G)M chipset only supports single-channel DDR, so buying XMS SO-DIMMs would probably not yield as much a boost as they should for that price. (They're at about $130 per 512-stick)

    Still no clockgen though... :/

gkiing: Yeah we know, the problem is that it seems that either they don't have it anymore, or they don't answer PMs ;p

I'm keeping my hopes up though.

Sheep, yes...the Mobility 9800 is basically the exact same thing as a desktop 9700 Pro but with a few of the features of the X800 series, which is cool. However you can overclock it, as I said above, to around 400core with relative easy giving you around 9800 Pro/XT performance.

nah not exactly the mr9800 only has 6 pipelines 9800s got 8.

if i have a mr9700 thats set to 450/350 stock why does ATITOOL call it an M10? the mr9700 is supposed to be called the M11
