New Enclosure, the O ring and the block with the grrove in it will be available in three weeks. There will also be oval pieces for gpu mounts. Here are some pics of the prototype.

looks great. what's the lowest temp this insulation would be capable of proofing? would it work with your cascade? just curious

    /edit
to make it a bit more clear. insulation of the evap-enclosure was what i meant

This evap has the same insulation as the three stager we are currently using. When installed a second layer of insulation is applied around the outside and samwiched between the square hold down and the motherboard.

What's holding the evap down? Is it the enclosure applying pressure to the o ring?

There is insulation betweem the plastic and block so it shouldn't feel the cold.

u must be joking i mean 1cm or less inside will be like -150c! or if its some special material that plastic or plastic lookalike...
ÃÂ:banana:'m curious is the this stuff that we are speaking atm presing the coper ring that the evap has? its sounds logic i know but me wants to be sure! Then for a 100% contact is not beter to put something betwen this lets say bricks of the enclosure? neoprane or so? im looking at this contact and i get bad dreams: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...chmentid=19008

Well I dipped the pvc into Ln2 and dropped it on the floor and it didn't break. But I will be testing further before the blocks arrive, the ring on the bottom is a neoprene high density O ring and it fits into a grrove machined into the block. The outside of the O ring sets against the Plastic so teh cold of the evap does not touch the plastic directly. All the force to push the block is exerted onto the base of the block not on teh top of the block so it is more likley to mount flush.

Well, chances are it's most likely safe. If you dropped it on a concrete floor after it being frozen solid and it didn't break i would say your safe.

do you machine those evaps from a round copper rod stock? i wouldn't think you would make those out of a solid block would you? the reason i ask is you said you bought a really long length of copper bar stock, you must have meant rod. I havn't priced that yet but i know, like i said that the bar stock was around $800 canadian +trucking from Ontario for a 21 foot 6 length.
