    Thumbs up Alpha EV 8

    Anyone has seen a comparation between the HP´s processor Alpha and Opteron or P4 ?????
    It is faster ????

    Depends on what you do. It requires special code to make use of the capacity. I'd go with a itanium cluster ahead of it if i wanted a supercomp

    I'd probly go a Opterons cluster for the most combatilbity.

    i thought they canned the alpha
    6.6k in 2k3 with under 500 invested, can ya beat that?

    nope, HP annouced the 2.1ghz Alpha. Its going to be the last of the proud and mightly Alpha line...

    The EV8 bus system was the inspiration for the orginal athlon cpu bus.
    OCZ employee and proud of it.

    nice to know but there processin is somthing that you cant compare to a pc they work totaly differntly i mean like that mac runs RISK so it does not need as much processing power because it work on a differnet level
