Just set mine up. Bios 1.36 gives up to +18.3% vcore which gives me around 1.92v reading if needed, and vdim with an overvolted 3.3 line gives around 2.9v so this seems the highest voltages available on a non-modded 939 board. Actually, the transition to the Neo2 was one of the most trouble free simplest installs I have ever done. So far fairly impressed with it.

    K8N Neo2 problems

    Hey everyone

    On my last setup:

    P4C800Deluxe -E w/3GHz@3.9GHz and 4x256MB BH5 sticks

I could run my POV6800Ultra@475/1300 for benching. Now on my new setup:

    K8N Neo2 Platinum w/4000+@10x260GHz and 2x512MB Geil Ultra X

I can only run my POV6800Ultra@430/1200. I've searched the net up and down, and have found some people with the same resaults. It seems that videocards overclock less with this motherboard, than with others. I talked to one guy that changed from this motherboard to a Asus card and gained a lot in videocard overclocking. You guys have any solutions for this problem?

Oh yeah, does Bios 1.36 have any improvements over 1.35?

    Cheers mates

I have a couple of questions.

At present I have the MSI 754 board and am thinking of going to the 939 board soon.

    1) The OCZBooster seems to work fine on the 939 board but how does it fit in if it is right next to one of the DIMM's ? On my 754 there are 3 slots and the middle slots splits them up so it fits in. On the 939 are both green DIMM slots dual channel, or one purple and one green ?

Has anyone tried the VIA 939 MSI Neo with the KT8000 Pro chipset rather than the nforce3 250 ? Via normally are quicker than nvidia with K8, but is the AGP/PCI locked and does VTT track VDIMM ?

    Regards

    Andy

Run slots 1 & 2, green/purple closest to socket for dual channel, and run your slot 4, farthest from socket

You want to use the 2 ram slots closet to CPU to get stable dual channel, use slot 4 (farthest from CPU) for booster like above person said.

For raid use the 2 raid connectors closet to CPU if you want locked SATA, the 2 sata farther from CPU is not locked.

    Not bad
I'm running it at 318x10 with 5:4 divider. Mushkin Level II does 265MHz 2-2-2-5 at 318 FSB.

How can I lower the TRC mem timing on this mobo?

When you're in the bios press shift+f2 then alt+f3. In the cell menu disable ATI/Nvidia speedup. When it's enabled it allows the motherboard to overclock the videocard in 3d. This will really goof up the speeds you *think* the card is running.

I have seen this happen: in win2k I have ATI tool open, and opening 3dmark01 increases card clock by 20MHz on core and ram. this doesn't happen when Nvidia/ ati speedup is disabled in bios.
My question is are clockspeed jumps the same for Nvidia users, or other ATI users? And if so what determines how much of a speed boost.

See here though those timing are prolly for G.SKILL ram.
Look for posts in this thread by Legion who got some OCZ EB going OK.
He was finding 3,3,3,10 OK, but that was on a real early BIOS.

Prolly impoved no end since then.

Yeah, I don't have any problem with BH5 on this mobo too. Using a pair that I've aquired from OPP some weeks ago, I manage to bench it at 265Mhz 2-2-2-5

you must have the OCZ DDR Booster, no? I didnt think it was possible to get that high without higher voltage.

There's a lot of permuations but it is time well spent for a few hundred extra points (I have not got around to it either though ) Nice proggy.

I just tried another stick of Crucial Ballistix 2565MB tonight and this was pretty good as well. Did 275 at 2.5-3-3-7 with no burn in. That means I have two sticks that do about 275-280 2.5-3-3-7 at 3.05v so am well set for moving over to a 939 board.

Although TCCD is getting all the hype the Crucial is pretty reliable on the nvidia 250 motherboard. These were sticks sent in the post 2 months apart so deinitely no cherry picking
