    i´m searching a vcore and a vdimm mod for the msi k8n neo2 S939?
    has anyone the board modded?

Please post pics of the board.

I like my women the way I like my processors...naked.
I am not the HellFire that writes bios files. I work strictly on voltage modifications.

I also want to know. I'm not going to vmod it but I want to measure the vdimm from the board. I am using a ddr booster but the board does not report the vdimm voltages correctly, thus i want to measure using a multimeter. Unfortuantly I dont have a good enough photo to upload.

    Cheers

Check any FETs around the dimm slots....I sure there is one there reading Vdimm.

I have been playing with the K8N Neo2 plat I have here most of the day. I have spent most of my time working on the memory subsystem figuring out how to get the dual channel frequency to atleast DDR500.

Right now I fail goldmem at DDR466 with 1 - 4 failures per hour. I have tried everything and the only thing that works is going from 1T to 2T. That indicates to me this board needs a Vdd mod.

So I went exploring with my Flukes and I have figured out how to do the Vdd mod. It is pretty much exactly the same as the K8N Neo Plat mod. I will try it tomorrow in the morning as I don't like doing Vmods when I am tired. Vdd is measuring 1.66V currently on my board.

I have confirmed 3.3V rail to Vdimm mod works well on this board. Vtt tracks nicely after the mod. This hasn't net'd me any additonal gains with my 3700EB thou because of Vdd problem.

Good test points for Vdd and Vtt are next to DIMM slot 4. Use EC1 for Vdimm and CB30 for Vtt.

I’m going to receive this board tomorrow, and have any of ya figured out how to make a Vcore mod?

LaserEdge-> did you have any luck with the mods?

    Eager to know =)

    Vddr mesuaring point

    Check this pic, please.
Left-side FET generates Vddr, and right-side FET regulates/supplies
    drain-voltage from Vio.

This Vddr circuit is similar to K8T Neo2's one, but not same, I think.
I've already found feedback line of Vddr and drain-voltage to CoreCell,
and probably 2 pattern-cuts are required for obtaining over 3V Vddr.
If upto 3V is enough, 1 pattern-cut is enough...

    I also use DDR-BOOSTER with K8N Neo2.
It's enough for me, but I intend to modify this Vddr circuit just for fun

    Vddr mod(step1)

    Check the attached image

    > This Vddr circuit is similar to K8T Neo2's one, but not same, I think.
    > I've already found feedback line of Vddr and drain-voltage to CoreCell,
    > and probably 2 pattern-cuts are required for obtaining over 3V Vddr.

The prediction above was partially correct and partially not correct
K8N Neo2's Vddr circuit is almost same as K8T Neo2's one.
This mod(step1) gives upto 3.2V in case of Vddr=2.85V setting@BIOS.
In my experience, Trcd=2 setting@BIOS gives lower Vddr(2.7V, without mod),
so set Trcd=3 or Auto and use A64Tweaker, or use CoreCenter please.
    Many thanks to CodeRed!!!

I'll try Vddr mod(step2) later. It wil gives Vddr over 3.2V ...upto near Vio.

    Excellent!
I’m currently like you using a Booster so a memory voltage mod isn’t quite necessary. But Vddr it increases the V to the NB? or am I mistaken?

Do you maybe have an idea of Vcore mod?

    Hi,

    OK, I've done several mods.
I expect that FET(Q20) generates Vdd(chipset voltage) and
FET(Q17) generates Vht(HyperTransport voltage), and now
    both voltage are controllable

Vddr-mod(step2) also works fine. I've confirmed that Vddr
can be set upto 3.65V, though it depends on Vio.
In case of Vddr=3.65V, Vio is over 3.8V

Vcore is controlled by ISL6559, so mod is easy, as usual.
    Connect Pin#10 and Pin#15 by 50k~25kOhm VR.

I'll disclose details near future, so stay tune!

    Great!
Thanks, I will make the mod myself in the near future.

    Thanks again!

looked at those pics. but which mod is just for VDDR?
or do you have to do VDD too?
    excuse the n00bishness.
did the VDDR on Neo1 was easy.is this similar?
you got any links in english???

    Hi,

    > which mod is just for VDDR?
    --
Mod by 2k-Ohm POT and orange-yellow-green wires is for Vddr.
Mod by 1k-Ohm POT and purple-blue wires is also for Vddr but optional.

    > or do you have to do VDD too?
    --
No, Vddr-mod and Vdd-mod are independent.

    Thanks

thanks.what connection is the green wire making?not 100% sure as its behind the other 2 in that pic.

Green wire is connected to GND...in my case, right side of R232.
I want to supply lower voltage to FB pin than actual Vddr,
and green wire connection makes it firmely, even if the internal
resistor/impedance of FB pin is very high, I think...
...I'm not a professional of electric circuit, but this mod still works
fine in my case at least

is it hard to cut the trace and solder to it?

I hope this pic may help you
Be careful not to damage other traces. Good luck!

cheers.i dont have the greatest of tools available but would i be correct in thinking if I just scrape away at the trace with a sharp knife until i reveal some copper, then the solder should take to it?

ahh right i see scrape solder then cut a gap.cool.gonna continue tomorrow with it, buying a better soldering iron as this one is terrible especially at soldering a wire to a resistor.

I just don't get something, I must do step 1 (cut trace) DDR mod or I can do just the Step 2 by replacing the R402? It will work as a vdimm mod?
