    Post "M0" SL7BK Stepping 3.0Ghz P4c's??

Just landed 2 of these new stepping P4c 3.0Ghz CPU's...

    SL7BK Steppings...

So far I've only started testing one of them out in my Vapo...

    Looking good though...

Funny thing is one of them in my Vapo/IC7-G rig is at 1.525v stock whereas the other in my "test" rig (PowerColor 9100IGP board that can't OC) runs at 1.55v even though they're from the same batch. Same codes down to the last, only 1 number different iirc...

Anyone else have one of these??

Looks exactly like my "old" 3.0c SL6WU, only that it's currently doing 250fsb as a "test" whereas my "old" one need 1.6v...

Does anyone else have one of these or has everybody "moved" up or over to the AMD world??

Any results with this chip, pls share...

Here's a screenie of Cpu-Z with 2 instances of Prime 95 running in the background: Notice the "M0" in the "revision" part??

    Cheers,
    Minnyboy

Sweet, that seem like a good stepping. This is the first I've seen/heard about this stepping.

let us know how high will these new M0 3.0C max out. First on air then water, phase change, etc.

Very interesting indeed. Guy luck m8.

It does 250fsb well but once you raise the fsb to say, 278, it starts to BSOD all over the place...

Not as good as my old SL6WU but I've only just started to test this out...

I could probably test these chips out on air & phasechange but I'd have to skip out on the H20....

Will keepp this thread updated with my results...

Cheers brother, I have been thinking of rolling the dice on another 478 P4 (my SL6WU gets y past 250-254FSB), and I'm glad to have another way to go. I'll be interested in your results. Thanks!

Ok 275FSB and it crashed with stock volts, not surprising,it needed 1.65v to get it stable again

When it's idle it is 1.52v but under stress testing (2 x Prime95) it undervolts a bit...

First chip is only getting 273 fsb at 1.7v... WTF 250fsb at default & raising the fab to 273 & it's sucking 1.7v...

Gotta try the other chip either 2nite or within the next day or 2.

Testing to see which of the chips I should keep...

    Got these P4's so far:

    3.2c that maxes out 248fsb@1.7v (3.97Ghz)
    3.0c testing at 273fsb@1.7v (4.1Ghz)
    3.0c haven't tested yet..

Also still have my trusty ol' 2.6 that does 3.7Ghz@1.675v (285fsb)...

More testing to be had for the next week or 2.

    Still waiting on an AMD643500+/K8NSNXP-939...

My NewCastle 3200+/K8NSNXP is a p.o.s...reboots all the time, even at default...WTF?? Need to get rid of that ASAP....

Even playing games it sometimes freezes for 5 seconds & then goes back to normal...

    Running default & 2 x 256MB XMS3500 (2-3-3-7@2.8v)...

First try of an AMD64 & it sure ain't a good experience..

    Enough blabbering, back to OCing...

    Cheers,

Makes me wish I still had my SL6WU after seeing your results...

Oh well, gotta see if the other chip is a goodie or not...

    I'll be back...

Vapo LS does make a bit of a difference compare to yesteryear's Vapo PE...

Here's to hoping the other chip can pull one off...

high vcore jump sounds like they behave like P4 EE and other MO chips

i'm holding out for a 3.4EE ES if i ever get my hands on one LOL

As to your AMD64, you should buy my AMD64 3400+ in OCAU forsale forum hehe 2.6ghz easy at 1.7v or 2.52ghz at 1.6v on Venus12 air hehe

Yeah i would love to play with a 3.4EE,but i cant justify the price, these chips are cheap i got it $280aus if it dies well you don't loose as much $1500 is alot to loose

Ok results so far are looking good,i,m starting to think its not the chip but the m/b.will be putting a modded board in the next few days so i expect it to go higher soon

earlier i had problems booting into the bios above 285FSB,it looks like it loosened up a bit cause i can boot into the bios at 298FSB
so this is it with a umodded board once i put in the modded one i,ll post again

    super pi @298FSB

    AM3@298FSB

I beat my old score by 500 points with some tweaking i,m thinking i can take 2nd place for 9800 pro

Getting rid of the 754 K8NSNXP & going for some 939 POWER...

    Especially at distributor prices....

The 754 version was only for testing...

If only it was good, I'd keep it but nah, I'll go for an OCZ DDR Booster/3500+/K8NSNXP-939 when my distributor finally ships it in...

BTW, I'm getting 15 of those OCS Boosters (there's only 40 in the first OZZIE batch & nearly half of it is mine)...

It'll be a while til the Aussie Distributor get's some more in...

Let me know if an Aussies can't find any & I might sell a few...

Got a question for evrybody here:

    What should I keep??

    a 3.2 that does 248fsb (3.97Ghz) & run my ram 1:1

    or

    a 3.0 that does 273fsb (4.1Ghz) running 5:4 divider??

    Mem will be doing 217Mhz @ 2-5-2-2 with GAT at a, e, 5, e, e for the 3Ghz chip

    Mem will be doing 248 @ 2-5-2-2 with GAT at t, e, 5, e, e...
What do you guys think would be the ONE to keep..

Only 100Mhz difference but at least the cpu/ram will be doing 1:1 to negate the 100Mhz difference??

    Any suggestions??

    Cheers,
    Minnyboy

BTW, the first shipment of 40 OCZ DDR Boosters have been sold out.... 25 to the rest of OZ & 15 to me
    Cheers,

nice. me has to think about what to get .. but nothing comes to mind right now hehe

high fsb is always good for 3d2k1 but other than that 3.2 would be easier to run

    a 3.2 that does 248fsb (3.97Ghz) & run my ram 1:1

    or

    a 3.0 that does 273fsb (4.1Ghz) running 5:4 divider?
I say you keep the 3.97, and sell me the 4.1.

My RAM can handle that at 1:1.

Of course, shipping to California would be long and expensive.

I would keep the 3.0c that does 273fsb. The higher fsb more than makes up for the lost bandwidth due to running the RAM at 5:4. Also, if you get RAM that can handle 273fsb 1:1 in the future, you'll have a proc that can get it there. Thats my opinion though, there honestly isn't much of a difference between the two.

You wont notice much of a difference between the two in games, so either go for personal preference, or keep the one that gives you better benchmark results.
    Less is more.

Got another 3.2 to try out.

    It's an oldie but I hope it's a goodie.

    It's a SL6WG L317B990.

Just gooping it up to freeze...

I kept the 3.0c 273fsb chip as a backup... Hopefully I won't need it after I've tried this new one.

    I'll be back...
    Cheers,
    Minh

Well, just 'cause I'm a helpful guy, I'd be happy to take it off of your hands. I mean, it needs some 1:1 RAM love, no?
