    OverClocking Question

I am gonna sound very cherry, new and dumb on this question. But this is something I was wondering about and there is no better place to ask. IF by changing my FSB from 100 To 133 what exactly is that gonna do and umm what else do I need to do to see how fast I can get the 950 duron I am running now.

As the multiplier is locked, only way to increase the speed is by FSB, as you said. Unless you unlock the cpu with the pencil trick.
So 133*9.5 = 1263 Mhz, a nice increase in speed.
Just start by increasing the FSB little by little, let's say 5Mhz, see if it boots succesfully and run some benchmarks. Continue like this in little steps.
If it isn't stable at a certain speed, increase the core voltage a bit, should help. Don't know what default voltage the Duron's run now (1.65, I thought).

I have a question? IF when Switching the FSB to 133 from 100 do you have to clear the cmos? IF not then I dont think I have an overclockable board. When switching the dipswitch, and booting up it doesnt even post. If I shut it down then switch it back to 100 it boots fine? Just a question

You know I guess I could have but as I am cherry to OCing I didnt know if clearing the cmos would do some damage so I guess when I get home then I shall clear and flip the dip and see what I can get thanks

When you clear cmos it just erases any settings in bios you have changed. So just clear and go.

i think it's unlikely an old school duron is gonna post a 133fsb without some help in the voltage dept.

Ill have to agree with an earlier post(at least partially). Odds are, you wont be able to post that Duron at 133 fsb. Durons are based on the 100, so the jump to 133 is one hella jump there. Is there a way you could drop the multiplier on there? Its a 950 right? figure if you could get your multi to 7 that would get you at 930ish. So, it would be slightly underclocked technically, but the fsb would be way over standard.
Im presuming by what you stated earlier, that your fsb is non-adjustable. (i.e.=100 or 133. Correct? If so, I wouldnt presume much on that with your Duron. Hitting 133 fsb with Durons are very difficult to do from what I have seen personally.
See if there are some multi options you have there. If so, drop them to at least 7.5, then see if you can boot up. If not, try 7.

OK You sort of lost me I am using a Chaintech ct7aia MOBO not the best but you figure you should be able to OC it alittle. It is a duron 950 Spitfire Proc. Switching from 100 to 133 FSB I have one Dip Switch to turn off. It wouldnt post, of course I didnt clear the cmos. Which before smiz had the 600 overclocked at 750 but locked and then wouldnt post. My ram was only 100. I was just curious becuase I have seen people running a 950 duron at like 1025 and wanted to seee what I could hit with stock stuff? IF it dont work then I will just get a new mobo, LOL

    9.5*133 = 1263mhz
Probably more effort than it's worth.

6*133 on the 600 ... 800, that seems possible. As always it's hit and miss.

My old 700 topped out at 1214 if i remember correctly, that was watercooled and vmodded. It ran near 40C. It would only go 1.0 on air.
