    ASUS A7N266 nForce

HOLY HELL this board is bad ass!!! EPOX and MSI .. forget those the nForce chipset from everything I am reading - the VIA can't touch and the coolest feature I think is the duoble DDR - basically if I run two sticks of ram - which is DDR I can double that double....
so instead of 2.1Gb bandwidth I can have 4.2Gb!!

I was thinking about that board recently to play with. I have heard that it is able to do 166 FSB with the correct memory while keeping the PCI and AGP bus at spec whatever FSB you select in bios. Does it use a HIP 6301 chip for VCore?

I am going to get a new motherboard this week and it comes down to the A7N266-C and Epox 8K3A+ because Shuttle is lagging behind with their relase of their AK35GTRv2.2. The main question is does the nVidia have VCore and VMem options? Even if I hard modded my XP the maximum I would be able to get is 1.85V for the VCore. Yes, I have been spoiled with VCore options up to 2.3V. The Epox 8K3A+ has VCore to 2.2V and Vmem to 3.2V.

yes they have Vmem of 2.5, 2.6, and 2.7 - stock....
Vcore has many settings up to 1.85 - stock....

FSB goes to 181 with 1001.d bios flash.... 1001.A bios goes to 172FSB

everything is either hard jumper selectable or done in the award BIOS. Depending on how you select the ''JEN'' jumper.
