Have you tried airgas yet??? They go down to 50c actually apparently if the volume's right...

Yah ... i was hoping it will be like $2 or close to it . With those crazy prices i wont be able to bench frequently , maybe once a month at most with LN2 , with DI it's 5 times cheaper (1$ / Lb , 20 Lbs enough for 8-10 hours , 25L LN2 i guess about the same 6 - 8 hours ? )
Thanks for the valuable tip Gautam - found one airgas store just 1.5 miles from my home , will stop by them soon , hope its cheaper over there
They said they could fill up my 25l for 25 bucks plus tax.
I was looking at 100 to fill a 160 liter. Plus 50 for a monthly rental.

Is it legal to transport LN2 in your own car in the USA?
Here in the UK it costs about £80 IIRC to fill a 25 litre dewar and £50/month rental.
Larger quantities are much cheaper... that 800 litre dewar in my avatar is 40p a litre IIRC (£0.40). The company who owns it said if I had my own dewar they could fill it for me .
Yes, one biger company here pay under 400$ for 1000L. Thankfully I have a good frend there, so I have 2x16L LN2 in month for free
If I want more LN2, I have to bay from local gas retailer AGA- usualy I pay 22$ for 10L, but they always fill my dewar full somehow
DI cost under 15$/10kg in AGA, but my frend support me in this part too for free
I have my own 16L dewar and 15kg DI box- purchase/carring/preservation is a lot easyer this way.
In central PA it's $2 for a litre of LN2 and $2 for a pound of Dry Ice.
You gotta look harder Stapler, I'm 1/2 1/2 that.
For which, or both more likely
I'm sure in CA I could get it cheaper, but in PA I've only got one airgas near me, so it's $2. My benching rig is in PA, no benching in CA, so I'm stuck. It's ok, I can only bench when I'm home from boarding school, so that means summer and a few breaks so $2 isn't going to kill me.
In the grand scheme of things that's pretty good.
I get mine from an Airgas store as well. Problem is they all operate seperately. Shop and call around and you might find one with a nice selling price.
Unfortunately no matter how you slice it LN2 is much pricier to bench with than DI.
^It's worth it to me though. My chip is just about at the absolute limit of what dry ice can do, and I'm not satisfied. 4975mhz dry ice doesn't leave me any room for improvement, so LN2 is a must. Unless I've got a real low FSB wall, I don't think 5400mhz is overly optimistic for this chip, and with P35 and 5:6 that'll give some good times I think.
glad i found this thread (dunno how i missed it).
i will see how much LN2 is at Praxair and Airgas which are both in Knoxville.
Dry ice is $0.42/lb in Knoxville and you can also find it for $0.22/lb in Loudon which is about 20-30 minutes away.
Guess im lucky here to cause I have access to a shop that repairs truck tankers and guess what rolled in. A praxair tanker with over 180 L of ln2 in it. All free. Ah thats some fun times. There co2 truck are cool to the pipe on back when emptying it get sub 80's frosty
Check here.
Wierd, I was quoted less than a buck per litre I think... of course, if I took the whole damn 200 litre... not sure what I can do with that if I do...
Maybe have LN party at my house? don't really have enough space for too many people with garage filled with equipments... -_-;
Just ordered some LN2 in Germany at Linde. 4€ / litre, taht's quite expensive. But i can borrow their Dewar for free for one weekend.
