    Air cooled Peltier

Yes, first off i realize peltiers work best with water cooling, but that aside,

    http://www.ocsystem.com/mcthercpucoo.html

What do you guys think of that? Any reviews you know of?

Also what kind of a powersupply would i need with that? I have a 420 Watt antec.

Also, I realize it wont match water cooling etc, but how much better would it perform than just a heatsink with a fan?

    Thank you

I'm sure there are reviews around... off the top of my head I can't think of any. Google and you should find something.

    You'll need a psu that's 12v rail does something around 24amps.

You'll also need at least a fan that pushes 68cfm. A tornado should do well at 80cfm.

Your still not going to get to far below ambient with it however.

Its going to peform better than just a heatsink, but its not going to perform to your expectations i'll tell you that much.

    hmm...

    heatsink/pelt-$80
    fan- $15
    PSU-$100

$200 for maybe 25C temps doesn't seem very good, and when you consider you can't use it on your next cpu (more than 100 watts) it seems like somewhat of a poor performance/price ratio. It's gonna make your room hot too.

You'll need a new/better psu for it. You'll likely want a dedicated PSU like the meanwell S320-12. You can pick those up for about $100.

I've been there and done that. My 2 cents, don't bother.

Too pricey for the cooling you actually end up with and way too loud.

You'd need to do some modding to pull that one off m8
What you need is high pressure (35mm thick) 120mm fan psuhing min 135CFM.
Then you need to make a duct allowing it to suck outside air. The whole assy needs to be well air tight to work.
Otherwise as chaps above wrote do not bother m8! Waste of money and time.
Oh, and it only makes sense if can't bare thinking of having watercooling setup. If you do not mind water cooling your rig forget about air coolet TECs
    Stock is never good enough!
