    Mobile or not

I'm doing a few upgrades so i'm changing my
    8rda+ for a DFI Infinty
    and buying more RAM
but the reason i made this thread was to ask if i should get a
Mobile XP or keep my XP 2100 AIUHB ( 240 i think ) unlocked
I was thinking of getting the 35 watt Athlon XP-M 2200

also i hope i will get my water chiller going soon too

Considering your already at 2.6ghz (unless your sig means 2600+) I'd stay with what you've got. If your sig means 2600+ levels; go for either the 2400+ or the 2500+ mobile

id say see what your current chip can do w/ the water chiller before your purchase a new cpu. If you can hit 2.6ghz then Id say no dont get the mobile.

Personally, I'dspend the money buying a gig of good ram.

Yah, get a gig of RAM first, it will give you the most noticable performance increase.

That's a pretty good oc that you're getting from that xp 2100 with simply a stock cooling plus it's an unlocked chip too. In a way it would be somewhat redundant to grab a mobile chip. Like what was suggested, try it (current chip) first with your planned water setup and see how it performs.

512 to a gig of ram certainly wouldn't hurt.

The 512K cache of a barton would help a lot though :/ But 1GB would be good too...

    hmmm

I think you'll find (3800+) (PR) is alot nicer than (2600+) (PR)....get a mobile. Get 1Gig of good ram too....Zipzoomfly still has 512M sticks of KHX3000 for $114....BH5.

2600+ is ussually a pretty shabby oc, but I don't see too many people using the stock cooler. You should let us know how high your chip goes with the chiller before making any decisions.

Oops my bad, if the sig meant 2600 PR which i thought was a total clock, then a new mobile chip might be in order.

The mobile bartons seem to be a crap shoot...my 45w 2400 can do 2.75 @ 1.85v with an slk900(u) and a pos nf7-s(I realy like saying that).

you are lucky to have such a good chip. most mobile 2400+ 45w can only do 2.4-2.5ghz.

So i guess i will not know til i cool it lol
will i guess i better work harder on my water chiller then
also i'm only running 1.6 vcore( which i think is stock since my chip is one of original high stock voltage tbread Bs )
to so that kind of hinders the OC but Stock cooling wasn't made for high volts and ocs
    I can hit 2.3ghz w/ 1.6 but its unstable

well now i setup my Infinty
so far i'm oced at 235x9.5
    CPU temp Idle 44C
    Vcore 1.8
    VDD 1.8
    Vdimm 3.00
    timings 3-3-3-2.5
with one XMS BH-6 and one XMS CH-5 both pc3200

    this is with plain H20
but i'm cooling off my gpu, chipset, and cpu
    in that order
so i figure thats lowering my cpu oc so i'm going to change it to
    cpu->gpu->chipset

also is 235 a good fsb for an Infinty

I think they can go higher, 240 is what I have herd for NF7 and 260 for the DFI's.
