is right... I tried to be serious, and then I saw 'asswell' and 'muddy' and 'liquid' in the same sentence....

lol... ok i'm dead tired i just came from a tennis competition i can answer it now,

yes you can use it, although it is not the best compound. use very little. btw which revision pcm is this. rev 2? becasue the first one corrodes your heatsink because it contains water. (aluminum doesnt corrode...)

in any case, it is NOT a good compound. i recomend getting something like Arctic Silver 5 or Ceramic which is safer.

Big debate over this at overclockers.com awhile ago.

Some Arctic Silver employees start talking about PCM+ damaging heatsinks. A few pictures of some retards with their cpu's die markings imprinted in soft copper, claiming they are gouges caused by water in PCM+. A few members of Overclockers jump on the bandwagon, shouting "Oh my god! My heatsink has gouges too". I post a picture of my heatsink with these exact same markings (And I use exclusively arctic silver products on it). And they for the most part are ignored. A user or two of PCM+ post that they've used it for a few months and had no problems. If I remember, some of those involved scared them into switching to AS5 while others said that PCM+ magical evil properties only affect some people. I also remember alot of hinting at possible damage to the cpu itself, and not just the heatsink. It was a very questionable few weeks, which if I cared about a companies business practices would have put me off of arctic silver products. However I only care about performance... and I haven't had a chance to use shin-etsu or Pcm+, which are the only two that I've seen claims of bearing superiority to AS5.

Really I doubt thermal paste matters anywhere near as much as people think it does. I'd just buy some ceramic cause it's so cheap personally.

Oh Finger condoms! I remember those from the first aid kit at work. They are fun. Roll them up and slip them into your buddie's wallet when he isn't looking.

But yeah cleaning the core and the heatsink has got to be what that alcohol is for.
