The design of that cooler is supposed to have a fan INSIDE the plastic housing. Sitting on top like that will actually make it less efficient and probably make your card hotter. The air flow isn't supposed to be flowing down, but actually flows off the side of the fan.

ok i did some research and found that air cooled tec's are not really that good. What kind of temps are you getting?

Added some fans around hot areas, ie the RAM and the chipset.

That's right, it doesn't work as well as a watercooled TEC but it does work better than any real aircooling.

With my Celeron 1.2 @ 1.6 full load temps are about 2-3C above ambient, idle temps are less than 10C.

I promised to cool a P4 3.8GHz with aircooled TECs to ambient temps, but since I'm building an AMD rig that won't happen anymore.
Now I'm gonna (try to?) cool a (probably) 3200+ Venice below ambient @ full load using aircooled TECs.

The whiney little 50mm~ fan on my Leadtek 6800GT was getting annoying so i stripped the card down to the bare heatsink and made a custom Plexi shroud/duct that i can attach an 80mm fan to. Much quieter + same cooling performance, OR louder and much better cooling performance - depending on which fan is used

TMM thats a nice and neat setup you made, I love the ingenuity of the fan shroud, but I have to ask why not a 120mm fan or atleast a 92mm
