Modded ATI Catalyst Files

Worked for a mintue & then 4bit colours after rebooting....

File deleted until further notice.

I have tried a few different ways of modying the older 3.1 & 3.2 Catalyst but to no avail so far.

From editing the .inf files of said drivers to using some pieces of later drivers to get the mod working but to no avail.

Even telling the system that my card is "only" a 9700pro. Still no good..

My apologies go out to those who had the chance to d/load the files I put up for those few minutes & have a farked up driver now because of me. Namelt Oppainter who had the mod already working but thought he'd try mine out too.

Great job but the 3.1s arn't working for my x800pro.

I get code 10 after install.

after several attempts with both 3.1's & 3.2's, I have given up for the moment on getting the mods done to these drivers...

Can't get them to run & when they do allow me to install them, I reboot & get the FUNKY 4bit/16 colors or my rig will go on a random crusade of rebooting b4 it gets into windows.

Only a "Safe Mode" & unistalling the modded drivers will alow my rig to be "normal' again.

I will keep trying but so far, no good.

Well my 3.1 thing was a fluke. I can't get them to install anymore, bummer. I don't think it was the real 3.1 driver anyway.

My apologies for getting everyone's hope's up for the moment.

Installed 3.2's fine, rebooted, fine, rebooted again & it was all farked up.... 4bit color so i had to pull the files down for the time being....

As you may have noticed, I put up a pic in their place so that I can reload the files once done.

At work at the moment so can't do anything.... Gotta wait til I get home & re-do the files from scratch.

This time I might have to modify the originals & replace the 9800 series instead of just adding more files to the mix....

If the 3.1's can work on the x800pro, it should take care of the nasty drops in lobbies using the 4.5 cats.

After a few hours of trying different ways of modding the older drivers to work on the R420 series, I hate to say that I've failed in my attempt to get the mod working.

That does not mean that I will give up trying to mod the older drivers for this gen of VC.

For the time being, the drivers are no good for these cards.

When I had the 9800XT mods done, it was a whole lot easier because the "R300" generation of acrds were already out in the 3.1's & thus made it a whole lot easier as Iwas just redirecting the path from "R350/R360" to "R300" whereas now, it's a whole different ballgame.

Could anyone who has been able to do the mod PM me to assist me perhaps or put the files up for grabs??

Or if someone knows how to mod ".sys" or ".dll" files please PM me.
