Thanks. Not bad for a 219MHz FSB, but I have not updated that score since I got my Mushkin 2-2-2 special. Might do it tonight.

Got a link for that Gigabyte BIOS?

I take it this mod is only for the VIVO versions of the X800 Pro??

"The command and conquer model," said the EA CEO, "doesn't work. If you think you're going to buy a developer and put your name on the label... you're making a profound mistake."

    Yes, ViVo only.

My Club3D ViVo arrived 1-2 hours ago and is now running at 16 pipes!

I even have the XT sticker upon the cooler.

    Viva ATI!

    I'm having troubble

While benching my system hangs. Screen goes blank and goes to standby. I have restart the whole .

This happens after a while. Maybe it's heat-related?

    I have it running @
    GPU: 472
    MEM: 450

    :o

    Why is this happening?

I flashed fiorst with the Gainward bios, then with the ATi X800 XT one.

    HAHA!

    Problem solved!!!

I flashed back to my X800 Pro BIOS. Clocks went back to normal, no more unstalility, i can overclock again and all 16 pipelines are working!

Just playes FarCry online for 30 minutes.. didn't freeze once!

interesting to hear the 16 pipes are working even when you flash back to a pro bios.

can you oc better with the pro or the xt bios?

I just bought a PowerColor X800Pro w/ VIVO...so hopefully it will flash just fine.

Do any of you guys notice a heat issue when doing this mod? I'll be on stock cooling for a while, so I don't want my card to heat up badly and render it useless.

    Thanks

With 60 pipelines you may play farcry at 500 fps but you need a 1 kW power supply!

That brings up an interesting question. Has anybody tried the Gigabyte BIOS on a non-VIVO card that has been modded?

It is a no go because the non vivo pro uses the AA chipset that is different from the AD used by XT and VIVO.

It has a different asic code and any piece of software can recognize that it is not an XT card.

What about the cards that were modded successfully that are not VIVO? Do you think they lied or do their cards have the AD chipset?

No, first pro core releases (AA) have not any further protection than the lasercut.

Latest GA, every GB and GC cores seem to have another protection that controls the GPU I/O addresses where there is the asic code and if someone try to change it, it is suddenly restored the original one.

If the card in the picture is the card you actually received it's not VIVO, but TVO.

Be careful RMA'ing to Newegg. They are ba$tards!

Here's a screenie of my current setup.. Do you think i can get the clocks any higher?

What do you have them set at? I think it's verry odd that some can clock way higher than others on the same card!

    Notice the 16 pipelines.

(My card is a sapphire x800 pro if that is of importance...)

At stock volts (1.3v) you should be able to run around 540/580 on average. At 1.4v it's more like 570/610. These are averages plus or minus 5-10 points, on stock air.

You have to play with it. If memory's too high you'll get arties and if GPU core is too high it will freeze.
