    Dang.. Kyro II is about as fast as Geforce 2 Ultra in GAMES. But since it doesn't support T&L, it's score sucks a lot in 3DMARK.

    Why isn't the compare link for Kyro II working?

    In 3D Mark, a Kyro II is about as fast as a GF 2MX.

    I think comparing Kyro´s is very boring cause with an A64 everyone will break this score......

    Damm you have beaten me, I used to hold top for Kyro I card.

    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=4928502

    That had stood since November 2002. Well done. Was done on my old EPOX 8k3a with only 10x187fsb....and an XP2000.

    I may have to try it in my DFI now and see if I can beat you...lol.

    thx thewildblue, your score is still impressive, considering the used hardware and the long time it stood on the top. but nothing stays forever, even in the sub 5k point class.

    i think my score can be beaten, must be a blop.

    @thewildblue:

    DFI? do you mean the socket A nf2? afaik nf2 boards are incompatible with Kyro cards.

    No they arent

    EDIT

    To be technical: connect solder pads to left of R170 and flash to new bios.

    Maybe i'll have to set up a benching partition and do some work to my Herc4500.. see if I can get it past the 210mhz it stopped at before..

    Why wont it work in an Nforce board (i have LP B), its currently sat in my server atm which is a kt400 board with AGP 8 slot.

    If not I suppose I could try benching it in there but 2003 as a domain controller running exchange, RAS, IIS and ISA is not the best benching platform.

    Do I need to flash the card or board ? What solder pads ???

    nForce boards have to have 1.5V compatible video cards. I am not sure whether Kyro is.. just a thought.

    Kyro cards supports both, 1.5v and 3.3v signaling. (aside from this, kyro I cards are agp4x, while kyro II cards are agp2x (agp4x disabled in gfx-bios)).

    the agp specs say 3.3v signaling is supported up to agp 2x and 1.5v up to 8x.

    in newer boards they work with 1.5v signaling.

    the problem with the nf2 is, that nvidia doesnt support correct agp2x with 1.5v with kyro cards.

    @thewildblue:

    Hercules 4500 AGP2x to AGP4x mod, but its in german.

    this wont help you to get the card working on nforce boards, but solves maybe some problems on Universal 1.5v AGP 3.0 boards.

    Cheers, the question is has anyone tried at all ?
    I mean most puter bits arent supposed to do alot of things but they still do....lol

    Arent the Kyro 1 card 3.3 volt being AGP 2x surely then the baord should support it going on what u posted.

    Im not quite willing to kill my DFI for a £20 kyro card....lol

    should be fine - the kyro fully suports 1.5V signaling etc. problem is a lot of newer chipsets refuse to work with agpx2.... <and since even old mx400's have it< it tends not to be noticed.

    btw - taken #1 spot back again.

    thread resurrection

    anyhow overall the kyro would be as Wes said around the GTS although in few games it was a lot faster.. And in the village benchmark it could beat the r300
