    Question P4C800-E Dlx vs IC7-MAX3

I have been reading in these forums alot. I see that most people mod the P4C800 with voltage mods of differant types. I was plaining on getting a new mobo this week(old one died)

I have a 2.8c and OCZ 3700 gold rev. 2. I want to run it at 1000 fsb @ 1:1. I dont want to any mods to the mobo unless I have too.

Any thoughts on witch motherboard will be best.

    Thanks for any feed back.

I posted this in Hardware/Intel also, but not much feedback. Sorry for double post.

I like them both but I have personally taken a IC7-Max3 to 320fsb with a 2.4c, no mods! It gets my vote out of the two

Asus are more dependable . In my opinion .

We have a test lab full of both boards
OCZ employee and proud of it.
If you have actually personaly experienced a problem with a OCZ product that was not solved quickly by our wonderful support staff I would like to know. Feel free to PM
    Thanks

I would go with the Abit. I have had 2 p4c800's and unless you do the droop mod the voltage falls when you load the cpu giving problems with reaching max speed.

I have problems running 250fsb 24/7 because of this.

My Abit Ic7 I had aldo out performed both asus mobos going all the way to 309fsb with my 2.4c.

    I owned the max3, the p4c800-e del, the abit ic7 g, the p4c800 deluxe
I would say the abit ic7 g is the best.
    Reasons?
The voltages are pretty stable unlike the ones from the asus boards. Its super fast and you can reach 300 fsb with much ease without doing mods.
Would I would say is talking against the asus is you have to mod it. My Mushkin lvl II wouldnt run on any asus board so that is another contra.

i can reach 323 fsb on my ic7-max3 no mods

and i believe the extra OTES cooling helps the mosfets and stabalize the voltages.

sure it has vtt problems over 2.8vdimm. but that does not make it worse than the asus because its also limited to 2.8vdimm.

if you want easy mods go for the asus.

but for me there would be no advantages over the ic7-max3. anyway clock for clock the ic7 is best.

    Stick a Vapo on it
