    NF7 vdimm mod without soldering?

    Hey guys, I want higher vdimm (my BH5 is just asking for it ), but I just HAVE to keep this mobo mod-free because I might have to send it back, so I don't want to leave ANY soldering marks.
    Are there any ways to go over the stock maximum voltage of 2.99V without any soldering? I have some SMD grabbers which I could use.
    I'm gonna do the pencil mod for higher VDD, but this won't help me without higher volts for my KHX3200
    So? Any ideas?

    when you look at the solderingpoints you will see that is is impossible to do with grabbers.
    If your soldering skills are goog enough you van remove the mod without seeable soldering

    I know, that's why I'm asking for an alternative method
    My soldering skills are not good enough, that's the problem

    I've done it before, and honestly my previous soldering experience before that time was next to zero, I honestly believe that _anyone_ can do it. All I'd suggest is may be practice a few times on a dead board of some kind. Thats about all you'd need. Nothing to it (especially if you do it the 'remove-the-resistor way').

    I think you didn't get the point. I might have to send it back, so it MUST be ABSOLUTELY clean. I might have to send it back because the NF7 I RMA'd was vmodded and the resistor was off, so if they notice it, they'll ship me my dead board and make me ship this one back to the shop....

    thats the deal.
    Modded=Power
    Unmodded=safety
    The soldering isnt that hard as you probably think. I praticed 30 min on an old Lan-card. Vdimm and VDD was done in less than 15 min.

    even if it blows up: Sell it on ebay
    Do it the way i said, pratice on old HW, its not a big problem.
    I Used a 8W iron(needle) and it worked perfectly.

    Sorry I did miss that point, I thought you didn't feel comfortable doing the mod. Nevermind what I said then.

    Danke, genau was ich brauchte!
    EDIT: Just in case, that's pin 19 on that chip, right?
    But I think we should stick to english here

    Bah, I've done it once, and I'd do it again if I could. OK, the first mobo died, but the second one prolly won't

    Realy its one of the easiest mods to do. Just be carefull of the heat . If I can do it anybody can do it. Just use dots of soldier at a time and tin the tip. the tin from the tip will be most all you need.
    Watch that the heat hits the end of the resistor fast and the tip of the solldier irion just has time yo melt a dab on the end of the resistor. Keping slight presure on the resistor with the iorn will keep it in place. Too much will move it and you all up.

    this can be a method to do the VDDR mod without soldering

    the AG silver paint isn't needed
    the vmod works perfectly and is perfectly stable, never had a problem testing a lots of components, moving the mobo and trying to make everything that can do something to the mod, but the mod works right now after 10 months perfectly

    i suppose if youre really ninja, you could tape a wire in a way so that its bare lead is hitting the resistor

    and do the same for the wire to ground

    but that might be asking for your mobo to die

    can you see the light? is it shining too bright? can you see the light at the end of the tunnel, i know i do, i know its true.

    Bro the VDimm mod, and unsoldered it fine, couldnt even tell it had been done.... He's bloody good though, re-soldered a resistor onto his ram when it fell off, TWICE, can't even tell it had ever been removed!

    Angry

    Or maybe you should use you board stock, and not try to cheat the ppl who made it.
    If you cant handle your house burning down, then dont light the curtains.

    I dont thing its a big thing if one does a little "fraud" because of some fault on the mb that they didnt contribute to, but when ppl are planning on doing it already before there are something wrong with the stuff. I think that sucks.

    Grow some balls and quit whining... its not completely safe to modd the hardware.
