the other day i went for a ride on my bike and i noticed that someone had dumped two perfectly good fridges in the bush just because they were a little rusted.

What a lucky, I'm jealously
Do you will build a cascade chiller?
The one on the left looks like it was used for cut up wombats or koala's or such .....

Then send a condensor over to brisbane
ok here they are.
this is the one from the small fridge.
it uses 110w and has one suction line, one sealed line and the condensor line.
on the compressor it says it uses
106grams of r12
high pressure side 275lbs.sq.in
low side pressure 150 lbs.sq.in
amps 0.8
volts 200/240
what size compressor do you think it is?

ok this is the large fridge guts.
this compressor has one suction line and three lines that go to the condensor. if i was to use this compressor is it best to close up two of the condensor lines and use the third condensor line to my condensor.
also what size compressor do you think this one is?

if you lived in perth i could give ya some.
on the big condenser there was enough to cut the thing into two sections.
i cut one down to 3 layers of 8 condensing lines and folded them up and flattened them.
would this be ok to use as a condenser, it fits nicely up to 4 x120 mm fans.
is the condensor too big or should i cut it down further,
my heat load will be 200w

ok on the weekend i went down early in the morning to kirby refrigeration, but it wasnt open and there was no opening times on the door, so i couldnt get some gauges and stuff to start project,
but this is what i have so far. i plan to test my system first with r290, then once i know there is no leaks and im happy with the chiller i will attemp to capture some r22 and use that to do a final finish.
this is a copressor out of a 5,900btu airconditioner which i plan on turing into a vacume pump.
once i get my but into gear and take a day off work so i can get down the shop and buy all the stuff that i need.
this is what i hope the end result will look like.
today i started work late, on the way i bought all the stuff that i need to complete my chiller.
i am using the compress out of the small fridge including the condenser. i have all the access values i need.
so far i plan to use 20' of 1/4 OD copper pipe soft drawn and 7' of 0.026 captude for the evaporator, is this ok for a 250w load (170w cpu and 27w water pump 50w or so from the compressor).
tools wise i got gauges + hoses, propane fitting, pipe cutter, and piercing value
i guess finally i need to know what vacume i should pull to safely fill the system with propane.
the compressor is from a 5,9000btu airconditioner
will post pics later
