    XP-M 2600 no go over 1.75v?

    Hi,

Just fitted an XP-M 2600 IQYHA 0348 XPMW to replace my old XP-M 2500 AQYHA 0410 TPCW and things were looking really good, was priming at 2550 at 1.75 volts completly stable. Tried to bump it up a noth going for 2700 and it BSODed doing into windows.

After some experimentation, I realise this CPU won't take any more than 1.75 volts at any speed over 2000 mhz. Even going as high as 2.1 in gradual increments made no difference and still resulted in BSODs even at 2550 which is definatly 100% stable with only 1.75 volts!

Turns out my previous 2500 AQYHA 0410 TPCW was faster. admittedly it took 2.05 volts for 2580 but atleast it could take the voltage unlike this one.

Don't know WTF is going on with this chip. Feeling pissed as looked like I had a killer chip. Was expecting 2800 plus with 2 volts going by what it needed for 2550. Anyone else has this sort of trouble?

    thanks

Some mobile chips just don't take more voltage.

Mine peaks at around 2600... no matter the voltage... it's just TOO hot.

Seems the problem was'nt the CPU, it was my motherboard.

Knocked off my vcore volt mod just before fitting the new CPU while removing the board from the case. Resoldered it back on and then installed the new cpu.

voltages were adjusting fine so I gave it no more thought till I put my old CPU back in and it also crashed anything over 1.75 volts at any speed. Tried taking the volt mod off altogther but still no go past 1.75, so seems like this board has had it.

Guess it looks like its DFI Infinity time then!
