It is the same as this with a capillary tube instead of the CPEV.

The evaporator is inside and the and the water runs on the outside, there is a small rez of 1L seperate ant this is where hte pump gets its feed water from.

That drawing uses a cpev for metering the flow of refrigerant into the evaporator maintaining a specific evaporator pressure.

Great work chilly, very impressive. When I've got $700 to spare I'll remember this.

That's why nobody uses glycol. It gets too thick to pump at low temps. Try denatured alcohol. Or if you have lots of money, try D-Limousine. Oh wait... that's D-Limonene.

Hmmmmm... Is Fluorinert the same as D-Limonene?

It doesn't sound like the pump was to fault... the viscosity of the fluid seems to be the problem that led to failure... How viscous is Fluorinert or D-Limonene @ -40C to -50C.

-10C...hummm, a little shy of the mark of -45C under load. You will definitely need another liquid to be successful.
