epox 4pca3+ or is my intel cpu that bad?

well first of all my rig:
    Epox 4pca3+ rev 2.0
    2x512mb Bh-5
    Intel P4C 2,6

well no matter how many volts i set up in bios. the cpu isnt stable above 3,3 ghz. highest run in 3dmark was 3,45 ghz. cpu does 3,25ghz with stock volts and boxed cooler. switched to slk 947u. but that brought me nothing. also cpus temp are pretty high 50c idle under windows and 65 under load. k then i switched to prometeia cooler and it brought me nothing ?? couldnt believe it well any ideas? heres the batch fpo code for u:
    fpo/batch 5341b151
    version c30469-007
    pack date 12/06/2003
    sl6ws china
any mods i have to do with mobo?
the psu is a modded antec with rails:
    12,4
    5,2
    3,42
    measured with multimeter

Funny, I had the exact same setup. 4pca3+, 2.6c and slk947u. It is the board. Damn EPoX put limiters on the boards. I didn't believe it at first, and I was told by several people. Once I started using this p4p800d, I knew it was true. I could only benches at 3.46GHz as well. Now I can at least run at 3.57GHz for 3DMark, thogh I lost points going to springdale from canterwood.

yes it seems that with epox 4pca3+ system is highly unstable with fsb > 250MHz. Now with prescott 2,8e installed im stuck at 250mhz again

well then, damn Epox forgot to limit my board..(rev. 2.0)

Again, I am not so sure about that ..

Tests were in single channel, absolutely no mods, air cooling(slk900+ 80mm delta). It's definately not a board for 1:1, I didnt manage to hit even 270MHz in 1:1 with some corsair PC4400.. I am not so sure, I would like to test with OCZ this 1:1.. but in 5:4 with proper BH-5 I hit 4GHz, very unstable, 3.3v on memory. 3:2 its OK, but no more than 3851MHz, again, single channel setup. Please disregard CPU voltage, thats vAGP. The cpu It was set to 1.65v or so.

went to computer store and changed the board to another epox. my old 4pca3+ was really buggy. temp sensors reading wrong (had 50 degree with system just started!) vcore reading wrong) mainboard undervolted as hell (set 1,7 in bios and i get 1,58)
plus wrong nb voltage 1,29 instead of 1,5v
so now i got another rev 2.0 and this one is really nice.

Same here vdimm is rock stable. Temp at idle is off about 10C compare to the temp probe I install under my cpu but at load is reading almost the same just fluctuate between 2-4C. Vcore is undervolting by .25-.50 on my board which is alright with me rather than having it overvolt.

That's great that you can still find the rev 2.0 board. Rev 2.0 seem to be more stable than the 2.2 at high fsb.

Rev 2.2s are quite a bit different than the rev 2.0s. My 2.2 enjoyed 1:1 and went it's highest to 275 with Geil Ultra pc4000, but 5:4 was the pits, only hitting about 265 with Kingston HyperX BH-5.

Huhn, how is your vcore set in the bios? It showing on the USDM at 1.248v.

Question for everyone: what does the Vbat voltage stand for? on both of mine and huhn it showing it as below 3.3v, Just curious.

Ok cool. I suspect the vbat to be the 3.3v line also but wasn't 100% sure. Mine is also reading all wrong, Hell-Fire have mod my PSU and preset the 3.3v to 3.65v and in USDM only showing from 3.1-3.25v. Thanks.

I'm cool with it, since CPU Throttle does not bump in, I don't bother. But I think this board measurements are pretty accurate. It's not like P4C800 or IC7
