    Vdimm mod gone wrong :(

    Hi all..

Well last night I attempted to volt mod my vdd and vdimm..
And all went well untill it came to soldering on the right side of that small resistor..

I was having a hard time getting it to stick then it did and I was moving the wire and it ripped off.. Then I took the resisitor off figuring today I would pick up that fixed resistor thing and do it the alternate way listed on Motherboardfaqs and the problem now is the trace that I need to solder to fell off.. Damit I shoulda left it the first time and glue gunned it but I didnt and I guess there isnt anything I can do to change that now..

The rest of the modding is done and im positive it came out perfect ...but this one part killed it..

Is there any other thing I could do to complete the mod before I throw it in the trash and not volt mod again..?

    Thanks
    Thunda

Do you have pics of it?I was in a very similar situation and almost killed my board. After ripping the resitor off I also thought that it was dead but I was lucky and scratched the left over away and found the solder point and the mod worked flawless. The stupid thing is that my psu just doesn't supply clean power above 3.4volts.

Well I could get a pic on.. but im 99% positive the trace isnt there.. I do minor repairs on pagers and cell phones at my job .. So I kinda know what it looks like when the trace isnt there.. I also looked at it with a magnifying glass to make sure..

    Thanks for your response tho..

lol... your telling me.. I shoulda left it or sent it to HellFire.. although he said there might be hope in fixing it.. gotta post pics tonight..

I couldnt wait and bought another mobo last night.. and it doesnt run the same settings in sig for 2 min's of prime .. but if I leave all the same except lower the multi then it seems ok ..was priming for 30 mins this morning and hope its still going when I get home..

I dont understand why it doesnt run the same.. I would think a different mobo might just effect the fsb of my oc..

    Firstly sorry for my English.

Ok. I had the same problem on my NF7-s rev2.
I solve the problem as follow:

    with a 10 Ohm/2W fixed resistor.

In the first time I repair my mobo using a 1/2W resistor but it give me some problem in a few months. Using a 2W fixed resistor now the mb downvolt a little but with the Vdimm mod it works fine up to 3.3V

What I have written is comprehensible?

    Yes I understand..
When the trace came off it kinda looked like it lifted up towards the second leg on the other chip.. guess thats where it goes..

So you still connected the middle leg of the VR to the right side of the 10 Ohm/2W fixed resistor ?

    Thanks for your help
    Thunda

edit.. just looked at it.. but my soldering skills arent very good..lol.. thats what got me into this to begin with.. hehe that leg looks real small..

    Updated.
I've connect the fixed resistor between the 19° leg of windbond chip and the mosfet to repair my m/b.

    Ok?

yes thats what I thought ya meant

I dont think I would be able to solder a wire to the windbond chip.. its very small and my soldering skills arent very good at all.. on the other hand the mobo is done anyways..

Dude, you need to find or hire someone with skills and equipment to make an SMD repair. Where are you located?

Dont...DONT...fk it up any more than it is already.

Feel free to send her my way and I will give her my best shot.

I live on East Coast as well so transit time would be minimal.

I like my women the way I like my processors...naked.
I am not the HellFire that writes bios files. I work strictly on voltage modifications.
