You are right JC. My experience with the 8500 tells me that ATI cards are more fragile than Nvidia. I even killed one myself.

Hey JC I hope you didn't get the old Radeon 9700 core. You will be pretty pissed when you have to send them back in order for it to work in 8x agp mode.

damn, RMA is gonna be a :banana::banana::banana::banana: from here back to the US

Wolf : I dont care that much about AGP8x right now, mainboard doesnt support it anyway and I dont see it making much difference anyway. Pumping up the AGP bus will do fine

I see your point. I would just be a little bit nervous as to what other problems the other core has and if I pay $350 for the latest vid card I want the latest core revision or at least one that will work as advertised. Good Luck man. I can't wait to see how you do with them.

GJ guys, Xtremesystems is currently the top team on 3Dmark.

Raptor, that SS was taken before Macci published obviously. good to see he has the time on weekends to update.

I am truely amazed my card is till alive, the day I took it down to Opp we slightly overheated the core till it changed colors. It still works fine. I had my water off and overheated the system till it shut down and the card is still fine...

I don't know I haven't had the pleasure of playing with one yet but go look at Rage 3d forums . There is a discussion over there. I think you can use riva tuner or some program to check the chip ID. Also I heard that the cards ATI is sending out now are the new revision.

How did you get the card to 504? Can you bench default at that speed? I can't seem to get that high but I got bad contact as well as only an 80W TEC. Water Temps were kinda warm today.

    Very nice job!
