Im sure you've tryed to drop the agp rate to 2x right?? also have you tryed relaxed memory timings when going over 175mhz with a low cpu speed saY 185X5 JUST TO SEE BECAUSE IVE HEARD THAT EVEN THO THESE BOARDS HAVE THE EXTRNAL power hook up they draw alot from the agp line.. I should have mine up and running tommorow kx7+9700 so ill see if i can get it to 200 at 4x

Hmm twiggy. This is very odd. There is no 1/6 divider or what? Maybe you can only use it once you pass a certain FSB.

Have you tried the board with another card? The 9700 are sensitive to high fsb.
You will not be able to set the 1/6 divider below 200MHz, This is the same as the 1/5 and 166mHz fsb.

CAS 1.5? LOL get that back up to 2 or 2.5 - I'd wager your problems will then go away...

have you tried at low timings and CPU DECODE OFF! at 200fsb? If your ram hits 200 in other boards and you have all of the above set and you got at least 2.8v in the ram and adequate cpu voltage and still no 1/6? Then I guess its RMA time. The 1/6 must work in some configuration. The question is how, and with what hardware did Abit test it sucessfully. call Abit tech support Monday. (They will probably tell you they don't support overclocking and can't help you)

That answer is so true it sucks((They will probably tell you they don't support overclocking and can't help you) [/B][/QUOTE])
,i bought my KX7 from a shop with Oveclocking in its name,on their site the KX7 is the overclockers dream,i had same prob it would not go over 175fsb with XMS 3200 i bought from shop.
    I did win eventually.
ITs been replaced,my new KX7 is much better.

I hear the Max 2 has the same probs with the 1/6. there must be a simple answer to this. Are you sure that you have turned off all of the "enhance for benchmarking" etc. ? There has to be some combination that works, otherwise why is it in the bios, although I am not aware of any ram that will do even 333 at cas1.5, so maybe it is in there for future use, but that seems very odd, or maybe the via chipset just sucks and I'll end up rma'ing my max2 next week to and waitning on the next platform that doesn't work, (hopefully not) an NF2.

here is a review of the at7 max2 board:

    http://www.tbreak.com/reviews/article.php?id=143

I'm not sure what to make of it. I don't think he mentions a 1/6 divider.
