Which is the winner clock for clock?

i'd imagine FX and Opteron are almost exactly the same clock for clock since they're achitecture is the same except for the Opterons have those things that link them together. that is, of course if they're both run at the same memory speed/timings.
Asus G60VX : Intel T9600@3.299GHZ : Nvidia GTX260M @ STOCK/ .9v
The Opteron is the fx51, but with all 3 HT links enabled.. The fx51 only has one enabled to allow it to overclock like it does as the 3 HT links on the opterons are for stabilty and multiple CPU usage and also thats why nobody has been able to overclock any opteron like a fx51 to date..
Micky seemed to like his Opteron's performance... but nobody has done comparative benchies.. at least nobody reputable..

once they get the 939 fx out, nobody, including opteron will be able to touch it!

u sure about that? initial FX939 Newcastles only = 512KB L2.. and that's pretty castrated if u ask me
isnt the opteron going 939 as well?

AMD said 512k L2 is the sweet spot for thier CPU's. I guess they were trying to get mobo makers to put 512k cache on the mobo's. I dont know though, thats just what I read in an artical..
The FX and the opteron 14x series don't have any 'coherent' hypertransport links, which is why neither can be used in multiple CPU configurations. The FX and the regular A64s will be going to 939. The Opteron will stay on the 940.
Back on topic, here's a link for a nice comparison of the A64s, Opteron, Fx, and other CPUs.
